AWESOME thrifty score

So I've been at my sister's house for the last three weeks (thank heavens I am home! ). There are a couple little thrift stores there and we it them a couple times. One always has random wool and I scored some of that as well. The most awesome was not that though.

It was a 1 lb. cone of black Alpaca.

For $2.00.

It is becoming a beautiful scarf. So far I only have a couple inches done but it sure is flying.

1 lb of alpaca for 2 bucks! What more could a girl ask for?

That's a good thrift store that is.

I know it! I love that place! If they would let me move in I would.

It's Inca Tops in the black (last one). I tried searching to find out how much it retails for but gave up pretty fast.

Congrats on your girl! I've been gone for a few weeks so sorry if that's a bit belated.

Sorry, OMM, I think you've been scooped Congratulations on the alpaca, but I need to go stalk birth stories now- this baby is VERY new, I think...

Yeah, that was a quick hour or so

OMM, she's been wearing the hat from the yarn you sent for her almost constantly. It's been very popular.

I'd love to see pics! I figured it would be perfect for a babe...it's a soft wool!

And cheap alpaca is amazing! (isn't that what this thread is about?)

Ahh that knitted up so nice! I think she's a keeper too.

Ony drawback to the yarn is it's black and bleeds onto my fingers as I knit. This may one of the few items I really wash and block well. Well wash and block period.
