What were your side effects from the trigger shot?

First time with trigger shot for me and having some symptoms.

Mine are: night of trigger shot, shortness of breath, pale washed out feeling, strong abdominal pain and queasiness. I was at a restaurant and it hurt so much I had to leave.

Since the IUI: uterine crampiness that is fairly dull and present all times like menstrual cramps but also with a feeling of heat with some throbbing feelings.
Also, very sore (to borrow from Frog) "circus boobs." I have to hold them when I go downstairs they hurt so much (also on 400 mg of progesterone). And general queasiness.

I'm 8dptrigger right now.
Just wondering if this is the way it is for others.

Hey Poet.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling crappy...

Personally, I've never had any 'symptoms' from a trigger shot. In terms of cramping, I usually get that on the day of the IUI, but the following day I'm fine.

Who knows, maybe your symptoms (esp the boob thing) is a positive sign that all went well with your IUI.

Keep us posted!

I get crampy, sore boobies, and 'pale' feeling too. And when I am sure the progesterone is not helping you!! It makes everything worse! The worst thing is my thigh still hurts where I got the trigger, and that was 13 days ago!!!!

With that much progesterone you'd almost definitely have those symptoms! Hope it ends in a !!

Well I've been on that much progesterone often, 200 mg almost every cycle for a year+ and 400 maybe 4x. The bbs thing is pretty much a staple symptom, but these others are new for me...so I was thinking it had to be the trigger shot. We'll see of course, I know these side effects can be very deceiving.

NatMom, I'm sorry your thigh is still hurting you! Oh dear. FWIW, we did mine in the stomach and I had no pain afterward.

I had no symptoms to speak of that I attributed to my trigger shot. However, I had plenty from the Clomid. I find that I get quesy very easily and sometimes even light headed when I'm nervous, stressed, and emotional. It's still a very real feeling, but I think for me it is often triggered by my emotional state. Certainly the infertility treatment leaves me an emotional basketcase and all of the hormone manipulations just make things so much worse.

By the way, I got my positive with DD 9 and then 10 days past trigger (I compared 2 days in a row and the second day was darker). Have you been testing at all? It sounds like you're close to being able to.

Nat Mom, I had my trigger in my butt and had no residual pain that I can recall. In fact, I remember thinking that it hurt way less than I expected it to.

Thanks Bliss. I had much worse emotional side effects with the Clomid (4 rounds) than w. the injectibles, which is what I heard often happens. They felt similar during the FP but the physical symptoms during this LP are very different. I guess I could poas but I kind of wish I'd been doing that so I could see the trigger effect leave and not be fooled by a trigger bfp at this point. Interesting that you got yours pretty early.

Yeah, I wasn't initially prescribed progesterone suppositories. On day 8 on my drive home for Christmas it occured to me that I'd done them in previous Clomid cycles and I called the RE to see if I should be on them. Apparently it was a screw up on their part, but at that point they said we'd just wait and see if I was pregnant and start then. I was half way to my mom's house. They're hard to get made. Honestly, I don't think I needed them, but it's better safe then sorry.

I was nervous, and certain I was pregnant, so I tested my first morning at my mom's house and then again the second morning. I called the RE on day 10 and they had me go in for a beta (at some clinic they found for me in my home town). The plan was to do 2 days in a row to confirm the pregnancy, but they called me after the first and told me I was definitely pregnant.

I know there are lots of mixed feelings and opinions on testing. I think my plan the next time I manage to make it to a trigger is to watch the effects fade every day and then hope to watch the line get darker again.
