So I need a little help...

Thread Starter
My husband has gotten himself in to a "heated" discussion on another board over vaxing and the risks etc.

I know the older rotovirus vax was pulled, but I can not seem to find anything online about it. Maybe I am just not looking in the right place, or maybe my preggo brain is just making it up.

I do not know of any other pulled vaxes, but it would be nice to know about them also.

Also any links anyone may have on the dangers (IE: death, retardation) would be helpful. I have been too http://www.nvic.org/ and that has been helpful, but these guys are REALLY starting to pull stuff out of thin air.

(studies one guy has found, that I have never seen and if they say what I think they say, then he is just really dumb. http://www.plosone.org/article/info:...l.pone.0003140
and
http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/20...ealth.children

He says there are 13 more, but will not link to them.)

It has been about 3 years since I have sat down and really done research, so I find myself lost (again)

Thanks!

Here is a list of discontinued vaccines. With a little help from Google, you can probably get some articles on why they were discontinued or recalled.

I have a few bookmarked:

Killed measles vaccine

Oral polio vaccine

Comvax

Several vaccines recalled due to BSE scare

Swine flu vaccine

An of course there was the "Cutter Incident" with the first killed polio vaccine.

Yes there are many studies disproving the link between autism and the MMR. What I always look at is the study itself. For example the one you bookmarked take a look at who funded it. "Funding: This work was supported by CDC grant U50 CCU522351 to AAP and by National Institutes of Health awards AI57158 (Northeast Biodefense Center-Lipkin), HL083850, and NS47537. Role of Study Sponsors: Members of the funding organization (AAP) and its sponsor (CDC) participated along with experts in virology and neurovirology, autism pathogenesis, and vaccine design and safety; representatives of the autism advocacy community; and study collaborators in an Oversight Committee that reviewed and agreed to all aspects of study design prior to data collection. The final decision to submit for publication was the responsibility of all study collaborators."

Hmmmmm funded by the very people that have a vested interest in there NOT being a relationship bewteen MMR and autism. If a study starts out looking to "disprove" a theory then that is exactly what it will find.
