DH Won't Have Any More Kids :( - Page 2

I don't have much advice but I just couldn't read this and leave without responding. I hope you are able to work through things together and find some common ground. Have you considered seeing a counselor together to work through the experience? Birth can be very traumatic especially for our partners because they see us hurting and don't know how to make it better and don't realize that we really are ok and whatever we go through is always worth it to us and would do it again to get the end product. Remember, men are problem solvers and fixers and labor and birth cannot be fixed.

Isn't there a trailer on youtube? A documentary for men who are traumatized by birth?

Being made to feel powerless to help your wife is very hard to deal with. Maybe talking to him about different types of birth will help him?

I know I am just repeating what other people have said, but I can't help saying I agree. You need to give him time. . a lot of time. It is good that he asked you if you can handle another child, but don't push the issue. Also you really do need to talk through his feelings, this is a great time to do it too. You are feeling better as a new mom, maybe getting into the swing of things, yet the birth experience is still fresh. He obviously needed, but hadn't yet told you how he felt. Encourage him to explain everything to you and give him lots of hugs and love. Men need some "mothering" too!
