Hello ladies, I'm glad to be here. I got my BFP last night, at 8 dpo! I'm 31, married and we have a wonderful 10 month old DD. My due date is August 10, 2009 though really if I follow the actual date of conception it would be August 14th!). Hubby and I are so happy to have conceived this baby, I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks last July. We've always wanted to have our kids close in age, and we would want 4 or 5 kids. We are hoping for a midwife-assisted homebirth this time around. I was not too happy with my hospital birth with DD, it was not terrible, but I didn't want the constant interruption and would prefer some privacy.

: Betsy, how fun to share another DDC! I only joined the Dec 07 club in my last trimester...I'm stepping up my game here and telling MDC about this pregnancy (just found out this morning!) before my own mother.

I'm 30, still nursing and cosleeping with my beautiful almost one-year old home birthed selectively/delayed vaxed baby girl. I just got off the phone with my hb midwife to make sure I'm on her schedule for early August when I'm estimating my due date. Hoping for a boy to balance things out! And shopping for the IUD I'll need sometime late next year.

Have to say, I don't know if I'm capable of tandem nursing. And DD is a kicker in bed, so we're going to have to be addressing some major big-girl issues in a few months. Am feeling some residual guilt over all that, but I think in return for her sacrifices I'm giving her a close sibling, a friend for life, something I always wished I had.

I too have been stalking this thread for quite a few days... but now I"m pretty positive I am in fact pregnant Two different tests today with faint lines... I'll test again tommorrow/next day (bought a box of 3 tests today to confirm, but yeah. My DS is nearly 21 months old now (born 3/07), and I had one miscarrage a year or two before him (blighted ovum) while in college. I'm living with my husband and son in the house I grew up in with my dad - we have 40 acres, chickens, goats, a dog and a cat... I'm really, really hoping to have this child naturally just as I did DS... but we'll see. I really hope my dad/dh doesn't take it too badly - I'm pretty positive that neither will be pleased and that both might push for an abortion, but I'm pretty positive thats not happening for one simple reason *I* want this baby!!

My sister (who is due 2.5 weeks before me with #4) told me about mothering.com...so I thought I'd check it out.

I'm almost 5 weeks with our first baby, due August 4, 2009. I CANNOT WAIT until our baby is here! It still seems a little surreal. I've been married for 2 1/2 years and we are definitely excited for this next part of our lives. We were blessed with a relatively short "TTC" period of 3 months.

I can't wait to be a mom!

Hi, and nice to meet you all! After 4 days and 6 tests (thank goodness for Dollar Tree) I think I finally believe it. We weren't planning this, but knew it was possible, and we are happy! Since I am still BF the one-year-old, I am a bit irregular and uncertain about the due date--could be anywhere from late July 25 to early August 9--so I'm going to hang around both for a while until it's clarified.

I'm 25 (will be 26 when this baby is born) and have 2 DSs, ages 2 1/2 and 1.

Judi here-- 35. I am August 1st. Still in shock. I figured it would take awhile using ovulation predictors and after a couple of lame months of track my period dates and one month using OP sticks-- ta da. Advanced maternal age- huh!

I have been married to Rob for six years and we've been together for 11. He is a SAHD to DS, 18 months. DS is still nursing and I hope to nurse him until he is closer to 2. We'll see what he thinks. Hoping to be a SAHM when I give birth to LO2.

We are mostly trying-to-be-more crunchy. =)

Hi ladies!

My "official" due date is July 31st, but since my symptoms are closer to the August moms than some of the July moms, I think I'll straddle both DDCs, if that's all right with you.

I have a 2 1/2 year old son who still nurses several times a day (would do it all day long if I let him) and mostly co-sleeps. Currently I'm 5 wks 3 days, and aside from wanting to scream every time DS latches on, I feel great! This is a change from my first pregnancy, when I wanted to pretty much hurl 24/7 by this time. Crossing my fingers that the Morning Sickness Fairies stay away this time!

ETA: Oh yeah, my other symptom is that my belly seems to want to pop out already. My mom came over for Black Friday shopping the other day, and she took one look at me and said, "You need to lose some weight. You look like you're pregnant!" We haven't told our families yet, but I'm wondering how long I can hide in these clothes.

Looking forward to getting to know you mamas better, and here's to a healthy and happy 9 months!

Nicky is Dec 17th. Daddy got a December baby for his birthday and now Mama gets her mini-me Leo.

I'm 27 and just found out I'm pregnant with #2 a week ago.
According to all of the calculators out there, my EDD is July 31st, however my cycle is not (or rarely) 28 days, so I'm expecting an early August baby. I should be somewhere around my 5th week.
This baby was planned.

DH and I have one child so far. DS will be 4 in February. He nursed until 2.75 years.
DH works out of the home full time. I work in the home part time while DS is in pre-school and the rest of the time I spend with him.
DH and I have been together for 7 years, married for 1.5.

So far, I don't feel pregnant (mostly because it's been so different than last time). I have some mild cramping, exhaustion, and sensitive to certain smells.
My first pregnancy was spent over the toilet the first 4ish months, so I'm hoping the difference sticks and I don't have to deal with morning sickness too much.

Yay, I'm in this same boat too. I"m 30, I have three kids including a "baby" who is just 19 months and still a total nursing fiend.

It's nice to have others here who are going to have to assimilate their current "baby" into a new role.

For me, keeping my little DD knowing how very very special she is is of paramount importance. She was very sick as a baby (better know that God) and I didn't think I'd have any more, I'm so content just loving her like crazy every day. So any ideas we can all come up with for easing this transition on our little ones will be helpful!

My name is Rose, 30 yrs old, and am hopefully expecting our first baby! My first appt is scheduled for 12/18.

I had a BFP the day after Tofurkey day! Today I'm 19 DPO. I had been charting for awhile and just last Saturday, my temps rose to a 3rd level, but today it went down a lot, but not past my coverline. I saw some helpful and reassuring info on this thread so I think I am going to try and stop worrying. Good to meet you all!

Hi Everyone!

Congratulations to all. I found out yesterday that we are due on 8/14!! We have one DS who is 2 years 2 months. He weaned himself two months ago, and here we are - excited for #2. We are thrilled. Though is does not feel real yet.

I am 37 and will be 38 when baby #2 arrives so I am a little nervous about being older and pregnant. But I am thinking good, healthy thoughts. We are considering a homebirth but are just beginning to explore our options. I can’t wait to meet this new little person in 36 weeks or so!!

My calculated due date is July 31st and two of my sons were two weeks late so I feel comfortable that I'll have an August Babe! I am a SAHM of three little boys. (6, 4, 2 1/2) I'm so thrilled to be here! I never quite knew if we'd have four but was hoping on it. I had a miscarriage last May so I'm a little apprehensive to let this sink in. My dh is a bit overwhelmed with the thought of four but he definitely is supportive.

My oldest son was born in a hospital. Induced at 14 days past my due date. (Blood Pressure Medicine through I.V. as soon as I was admitted because my blood pressure went up, Cervadil, Pitocin, and then a 4th degree tear because they estimated him at maybe 6 lbs but he surprised us at 9 lb 4oz.)

So, I decided never to go the hospital route again and had a homebirth for the second. The midwife made it by about 2 minutes. Healthy baby boy born in the bathtub! 8 lbs. 6 oz.

My third DS was a homebirth - unplanned unassisted. The midwife figured that if I was able to talk to her on the phone I wasn't close enough for her to hurry. My sister called her 20 minutes later while I was nursing my newborn son! My husband was a superstar at deliverying him - very steady and very confident. I was the one who got nervous when I realized that it was his head crowning and that is why I hurt so much. He was 8 lb 2 oz.

I'm so looking forward to this babe! The spacing between my three sons was very close and this one will be 3 1/2 years spacing. Seems a little less overwhelming to me.
