So who's here? - Page 11

Hi! I am new to this site.I picked up Mothering at Whole Foods yesterday and fell in love. So me!

Anyway, I am due 8/30 with Lucas who will be our first baby. I conceived (finally) using Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture, herbs, diet changes) after going through a few rounds of fertility drugs that didn't work and I felt were not really what I wanted to put my body through anyway. I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own, so I was skeptical if TCM could actually get my broken body going, but it did, and much faster than we expected once we started! We are so thankful to be expecting!

Hi Everyone :]
I am 18 years old and expecting my first baby with my amazing boyfriend.
I am due August 18th, so i am about 29-30 weeks pregnant right now. Officially in my third trimester! We found out about two months ago that the baby is a GIRL! And we are going to name her Chloe. :]

Add me to the latecomer list. I'm Jenni, 30 weeks tomorrow (on 6/7) and due "officially" on August 16th with a little girl. But since none of my kids were ever born on their due dates, I just say "mid-August sometime" is when I'm due. This is my 3rd baby, but she won't be coming home with me. She is being adopted by a local couple.

Hello!

Hi everyone! I'm coming to this forum pretty late, I know. I wanted to meet some other moms that are going to pregnant for most or all of the summer. I live in Texas and the weather has already hit 100+ a couple of times. I'm not crazy enough to be out in it, though! I'm inside with my A/C and my sewing machine!

A little bit about me...I'm 31 and this is our first baby. My due date is Aug. 11. DH and I have been married a little over 18 months. We've chosen to be surprised about the gender (and it's driving everyone nuts except for us). Our midwife thinks it's a boy due to slow heartbeat, my mom laughed at that one. I was supposed to be a boy for the same reason and so were six of my friends or coworkers! We are planning a homebirth with a midwife.

I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum from weeks 6-17ish and it was awful. I was very sick, but not to the point of IV therapy or feeding tubes. I lost 17 pounds (and have since gained it all back plus a few more). I was one of the "lucky" ones who's HG went away in the second tri. Since then, everything has been fine. I haven't experienced the high blood pressure or gestational diabetes that have plagued the other women in my family

Hope you're all doing well and getting plenty of rest and water. We're in the home stretch!

It's not fair! My HG should have gone away too!! It was over by 20-25 weeks last two times, not this pregnancy.

I'm certainly better than I was but I'm still queasy daily, I still vomit. *sigh*

Anyway welcome to the DDC, Hezzie!

Aw, I'm sorry it hasn't gone away! I hope you get better soon. I've heard it can sometimes get worse with subsequent pregnancies. It was traumatic for my husband to watch me suffer through it that he's spoken several times of not having anymore children (and this is our first). He felt so helpless and that's one of the worst feelings for men, when their instincts are to protect and provide for us and they can't do a thing to make it better.

Have you looked at the forums at hyperemesis.org? That website is such a lifesaver! I found so much support there and I felt better knowing that I wasn't alone fighting HG. Those women knew exactly what I was going through and it's such a great place. PM me if you need to vent about HG or are just having a bad day. Take care and I'm sending good vibes your way!

Hi All! I have been lurking around here for months, but never got around to introducing myself.

My name is Natasha and I am almost 31. I have been married to DH since 2002 and we have a DD who was born September 2007. This child is due August 8th. However I have told all my family and friends that I am due the mid to end of August. (I got so sick of people saying "any day now" or "the baby wants to make a grand entrance" after 37wks, I purposely told everyone I was due later). We had our DD at home in a birth pool and thats where we intend to have this one. We didn't have a u/s so we don't know the sex either.

Nice to be here!

newbie

I just discovered this site - what a great resource! I'm 31 weeks pregnant (due Aug 30) with our first; 32 years old; a grad student married to another grad student; living in Brooklyn, NY. I'm looking forward to getting to know my fellow August mums during this homestretch!
Cheers,
Nicky

Hi Everyone!

I just registered tonight, as I've been enjoying lurking and learning!

My name is Amy, I have a baby boy expected to arrive in late August/early September. My husband and I are the proud parents of two older children: A 9.5 yo girl and an 8 yo boy. We love our three cats and two shih tzu, too.

I love decorating, crafting and sewing. My husband is currently deploying to Afghanistan for the next year, so things are hopping around our house!

I have PCOS and just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so I am learning a lot about that these days.

I hope to get to know you all! :
