TLC's Baby Story

Did anyone see A baby story today? It was a homebirth!!! i was so pleased to catch it as I try not to watch it with my birth coming up... sometimes that show makes me so angry!

Anyway, it was lovely to see a homebirth. I hope more homebirth mama's contact them. I thought it was showed very realisticly too. Awesome!!!!!

FINALLY! I hope there is more to come!
I stay away from that show because it gets me all worked up and I have even scolded my tv for being so uninformed (my tv is smart, the birthing woman, not so much).
I now stay away from all mainstream birthing/baby shows. Deliver Me on Discovery Health is also very annoying.

Is this a new one?

I saw one a week or so ago. The mom got to 9 1/2 cm and went to the hospital. I was SO hoping for a real homebirth.

I've seen a homebirth on there before. The mom was a military wife and she hemorrhages after the birth but everything ends up favorably. Was this a new one?

I haven't watched a single show throughout pregnancy.

Yes and its been on there a few times (re-run). I LOVED it, mostly due to the HB and the fact they are chiropractors (my hubby is too. lol). It is a really cute/good one to watch! I've seen a few on there but not many. That show usually makes me kinda mad too. lol

It was a really great episode. I don't think there was any fear mongering. Just a really nervous grandmother but I didn't get the impression she was anti-home birth. Just really nervous in general.

I didn't catch this one, but have seen some decent births on there lately. Normally my DH doesn't let me watch birth TV shows because I get so worked up & start talking to the TV. Like that is going to get the mom to change her mind

no hospital visit, she births at home :-)

I actually had a few tapes of homebirthing/freestanding birth center birthing moms from that show...I collected those over a few pregnancies. NO vcr set up though. I wonder now if I want my girls to be prepared for the noises I make if I should just pre-screen some you tube and let them watch.

I would have liked to have seen it. Whenever I watch it, my 2 yo will make comments like:

• "Why are they being so mean to the baby?!"
• "Why are they doing that to the mommy/baby?!"
• "Give the baby back to the mommy!"
