You may remember from this post that my midwife/her assistant messed up my youngest's birth certificate, and the state was being a PITA about reissuing it with the right date/father's name. My midwife promised to send them something that would pass as records. She never did and has gone missing or something; I can't get a hold of her.
I called the state back and talked to someone new who was actually helpful and said the law said the notarized affidavit we sent in the first place should be sufficient. She was supposed to call back today.
All's well that ends well, right?
Except they still have the wrong freaking father's name of the birth certificate. My husband is a III, they listed him as a IV.
GAH!!!
I wondered for a while if it might not be easier to just get DH to change his name, but then he pointed out that the other three children's BCs would then be wrong.

and a  I'm so sorry Annette. I only laugh b/c we're going through similar BC dramam here and if you don't laugh, well, you get POed.
: Now I have to send the BC I have BACK to the VA DoH with a letter telling them its wrong and I have to wait for a new BC before I can apply for a SSN. So yeah, we didn't claim DS2 on our taxes this year and I'm hoping to get everything done in time to file for 2008.
