I have to find a new dr :(

I just received our medical records in the mail. The dr's office sent them to us with a letter saying that they will no longer see us because of our choice to not immunize. Sigh, now I have to find someone else. I don't expect to find someone who will support us in our choice - all the dr's seem to be the same around here.

I'm just frustrated. Thanks.

Don't despair! They are out there and honestly don't you want a doctor you can be a partner with rather than one who is so rigid? I don't want that for my child. I just had to find a new doctor too because I refused to sign the "Bad mommy" form. I got some names and made some calls and found somebody. She is about 40 minutes away but well worth the drive if she will not harrass me about vaxing my son. Have you thought about getting a family doctor or naturopath? Try the your local chapter of Holistic Moms Network http://home.homewebs.com/holisticmom...wsItem?id=1989
Or try the Attachment parenting yahoo group. Keep looking!! Good luck

I'm sorry this has not happened to me personally (of course, DS did have some vaxes) but I read about this exact thing a lot on here.

Yes, if this was a pediatrician's office, try going to a family doc instead. I would not even mention vaccines, and if they mention it say you are religiously opposed, they cannot rightfully question you on that.

But be forewarned, it doesn't mean they won't. It happened to us.

I am so sorry they did that! I would ask around.

The same thing happened to us after three years with a great ped. It stinks, but we found a great family practitioner who is holistically inclined and fine with no vax. At first we were devastated, but now I am so glad.

I have a new dr for the kids already! I called the doctor's offices I go to and asked if they were a family practice and would they accept children, and they said yes. The woman I see isn't particularly holistically inclined, but I know she had a drug-free birth, etc., so at least she's on the right track. I said right upfront that we are religiously opposed to vaccines, and I was wondering if they would still be willing to accept us. I didn't want to go through the hassle of transferring their records, only to get kicked out again. They said it wasn't a problem!! : (I was only speaking with one of the office women, but she did put me on hold and conferred with someone before saying yes to that.)

Glad to hear you found a new doc!
We were recently kicked out of a ped practice for refusing to adhere to "office policies" concerning vaccination. We're now with a FP and I think it's going to work out much better.

If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't even bother with a pediatrician. I wish I'd known better back when my first was born!

Just because you are questioned, doesn't mean that you have to answer. A firm, "I won't discuss this further with you" should suffice.
