should I get membranes stripped tomorrow?

I am 40 + 4 days. Going in tomorrow for u/s and I MIGHT let them check me. Should I get membranes stripped....at this point I would love to be home for Thanksgiving and go into labor Friday night...but HAHA like I have ANY say in when this baby will show up. I have been trying acupuncture, reflexolgy, EPO, sex, walking, spicy foods, pineapple, eggplant and every other safe 'old wives tale' to get things started.
First DD was 14 days late so...........

what to do?

ALSO baby is still moving a TON....did movement slow down or speed up for you before labor started?

i have no idea! im considering a check on friday when i have my appt, and actually thought about membrane stripping too. i probably won't do it, but i do understand the temptation!!

If I'm still preggo at 42 weeks, strip 'em. My baby's been moving a ton, too. I don't remember that from last time. Wonder what it means?

I would say wait until at least as long as your dd went as long as everything went well with her birth.

I am 40w 6d and have been doing it all EPO,RRT,WALKING,SEX..... AND HAVE HAD MEMBRANES SWEEPED TWICE. After each time more bloody show followed with menstrual like cramps from the sweeping. I'm dilated 3 cent. and effaced 80% ( been this way for 2 weeks) Not sure if sweeping had any positive effect as I'm still prego. I'm hoping maybe the turkey tomorrow will put me into labor lol
