I am so angry!

I just found out that my cousin has thyroid cancer. My grandma just died from lung cancer 3 weeks ago. I've also lost 2 other grandmas, my great grandpa & an uncle to cancer. It just isn't fair!! My uncle that died was married to my cousins mom (my aunt, but he was not my cousins dad), so this will be the 2nd cancer patient she takes care of.

Fortuantly, or may be really unfortunatly, I was not really very close to any of them except 1 grandma that died almost 12 years ago. But of course I am close to other members of my family that are very close to these people. I hurt for them. My heart just breaks!

I am so angry that there are so many people with cancer & so few, it seems, advances in the treatment or prevention of it. I just don't know what to say.

I am so sorry for your losses. I lost my mother last year to brain cancer. Right before that My sister was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She had a complete thyroidectomy and follow up chemo. Two years later she is doing really well and is cancer free. Hopefully your cousin will do well too.

I am glad to hear your sister is doing well now. I am sorry for your loss also. I forgot to say that my cousin has totally unrelated Valley Fever that they know is in her brain. She's been doing ok with it, but in a lot of pain. I don't know how they will be able to coordinate the treatment of the 2 illnesses.

Thanks for the hugs!! I really need them. We are going through some really though times right now, so this just sent me over the edge.

I really get angry about this too. I think that many cancers are caused by environemental toxins and pollution, in combination with genetic factors. So I wonder what would happen to the rates of cancer if we cleaned up our world. And I think it's awful that so many people and so many families are affected. My mother is dying of cancer right now. I'm in the angry stage and I don't know if I'll ever stop being MAD.

Yes, we hate the "c" word in our family as well. Took both my parents, two aunts and a grandparent.

My 6 y/o son is already planning on being a scientist so he can make cancer disappear.

It breaks my heart.
