Who else is pining for spring? :
OMG YES.
And pining for a garden. About this time of year I start thinking I should be preparing for my veggie garden - then I remember I'm renting. I'm getting of this renting thing. I keep tossing around the idea of moving to the sticks. I have a feeling that's where I'll end up for a while.

How is everyone doing?
We're suffering with all sorts of yuckiness lately. Littlest is at CHEO right now with a horrible cough. My guess is either pertussis, croup or pneumonia. We were holding out for the clinic to open, but by 4am with no sleep for anyone and worsening breathing, off we went. We need to get healthy. Can't wait for actual spring.

Hello!! I'm new here (not to MDC but never checked out the tribes before )...and relatively new to Ottawa. We rented in place in Westboro for a year and last March we bought a house out here near Wakefield, QC. We have an almost 4 month old baby girl, Ophelia. Just wanted to introduce myself instead of lurking!
Can't wait for spring and my first ever veggie garden!!

Also, DP works on Montreal Rd and I think the area behind his building (Aviation Pkwy area) is pretty nice!

Although I am not new to Mothering I am finally getting out of lurking and into posting. It's great to see so many other mom's here from Ottawa. Unfortunately I can't make any of the daytime meet ups but if anyone is ever interested in a weekend one, we're in!

There is an Ottawa mama in need of breast milk for her baby. If anyone has any leads, please send me a private message and I'll connect you with the local midwife helping the search.

M - I'm just starting to get colostrum, but I know I'll be bursting once my milk comes in (K will want it, the new babe will want it...I anticipate a full load) in a couple of months after our new one arrives. Please remind me then and I can pump extra...hth!

I'd be up for it if it's in a central area (I'm in Sandy Hill).

still nauseated but am finally getting breaks here and there from it so am open to walking out your way to the park during the week sometime (my work sched is still evenings and most weekends). mid-late morning is good for us. maybe even sometime next week - a long walk would probably do me good.

Hey, star*mora! Glad you're feeling better.
Brewer Park would be great but would you rather meet in the middle? Any day next week except Wednesday would be great for me.
Any other mamas keen?
i don't mind the walk, i could drive but it's only about a 35-40min walk. i think thursday is looking like a comfortable day weatherwise - showing at about 16 degrees so far. if the weather holds what would you think of meeting around 11am (that way it shouldn't be too cool out)?

it would be good to get out and brewer park would be a lot of fun for callum at this stage. he hasn't been to that park in some time now.

Sounds great, star*mora!
It's official – meet-up 11 a.m. Thursday at the Brewer Park picnic tables.
I hope lots of other mamas can make it...

We'll try to make it...we have Waldorf in the morning until 11:30, then we'll try to come on out! It's been *so* nice to get outside! :

Hi, I also live in Ottawa near downtown. I work during the day and my husband is at home, so if anyone is up for meeting on a weekend I would be able to come to that. Or I can see if my husband wants to meet during the week, but he brings Rowan to meet me at lunch hour so he's pretty busy!

Hello mamas! I'm actually popping into your tribe from Vancouver (although I'm originally from Ottawa). My little brother and his partner who are in Ottawa just had a baby and are in desperate need of a co-sleeper. They quickly learned that their little girl doesn't like to sleep all alone in her crib . So, they've been taking turn sitting up with her throughout the night, which is sweet but far too tiring for them.

So, I am wondering if any of you know of anyone in the Ottawa area who is looking to sell their co-sleeper.

I've sent them instructions on how to sidecar their crib, but they're too concerned about the gap and they only have a double mattress so there's not much room to actually co-sleep.

Thank you so much!!!!
