Background: I was a professional athlete (mountain biking and triathlon) for 7 years before pregnancy, and stayed very fit throughout pregnancy. I had a great homebirth. One would think I would have "bounced right back" afterwards, but that hasn't been the case!
I've been getting physical therapy now for about 7 weeks (I am 13 weeks PP right now), but still having stress incontinence when I run (or try to run
).
all my other "issues" are resolving, this one is lingering. It is getting a little better; I don't have blowouts or anything, just a little urinary leakage, but it is pretty constant while running.
I kegel, i swear i do! part of the problem though is that i evidently injured my tailbone in the birth, and it hurts when I kegel. My physical therapist has done a couple tests (including biofeedback) that show I do have strength in my pelvic floor muscles. Right now we are working on endurance of those muscles.
So my question is: anyone else been through this and come out the other side just fine? What did you do? Is it just a matter of time and patience?
Oh, I've also had acupuncture and craniosacral therapy.
