Yet to Be Named is Here!

Our beautiful baby boy was born at home (in our bathroom) after only five hours of labour! :

It was beautiful, dreamy experience and he was born at 8:00 Thursday morning after only seven minutes of pushing. Placenta took about 45 minutes which made me nervous because my midwife just had a scary retained placenta experienced with my gf who lives close to us (we're pretty remote). I think that was maybe because it was a not so subconcious concern and the bathroom was kind of chilly!

Anyway, it came out finally no problem, no tinctures or shots needed, just a good push squatting up right and, yeah, everything is wonderful!!!

The complete story and pictures here on my blog.

Congrats mama, he's gorgeous! Your birth story is beautiful and you write it so well! @ the snorting and eagle noises... totally get that. And hope he is letting you get more sleep! Just curious... how much did he weigh?

Awwwww, chucks, everyone's so sweet here!

Bella, he was eight pounds one ounce when he was born. Not sure where he's at now but I'm sure he's chunking up some. He's a great nurser. Don't think I mentioned this in the story but he pretty much climbed up my chest after birth and found the boobs himself!

And I AM getting much more sleep. This kid, dare I say, is just a dream come true. After night number three, I slowly started getting longer chunks of sleep in. Now he slept pretty much solid last night hardly waking up when he was ready for a top up. Amazing how well rested I feel this morning!

thanks again everyone :
