Skin issues in pregnancy, please help!

I am a 26yrs old girl, married to the loveof my life.. I live in Qatar (Persian Gulf) Have been there for 3 yrs and my husband for almost 6. We have a lovely life there and enjoy it. We have great jobs and now I am expecting our first baby boy.

In 2001 I had acne treatment for pimples and a bit of redness issues.. nothing major.. it was kindda pink but mainly was for pimples. I was still living with my parents and winter used to come in and stuff and I would never get any acne issue again. I took Roaccutane for 6 months then.

We married in 2005 and left our country to Qatar. Its been amazing as I never had any skin issue.. Until now... I am back home with my mom until I deliver our baby (will be here approx. in 2 weeks) and when I arrived the weather was cooling and cooling, until it started to freeze!! It's so cold in here..

So my right cheek started to get red and more red as time passed. Until I barely could put on my life-time moisturizer. My cheek started to itch a lot and become red. I barely was able to open my mouth bec I felt my skin was so dry.. It stayed like this until I went to see my dermatologist. Of course, he cannot give me any medicine so he prescribed a cream and a spray. The spray is an Avene one to cool burning sensations, and cream is a RoC one called Calmance.. he said it is rocasea...
he said that factors contributing to this change are: strong blood flow due to pregnancy, and change in weather. He said that the wind is causing this a lot, and thats why where my husband and I live was better for me and since I havent seen winter for ages, my skin was going to break out.

Everytime I sit infront of a heater, my right cheeks burns and automatically it becomes red and HOT. My left cheek stays normal. I have been having mood swings, and as my birth is arriving, I am feeling so stressed, and scared, and anxious.. and now with my cheek issue, I am always nervous as I dont want it to be an issue after I give birth.

My eyes feel so dry, and it bothers me a lot..

I have been crying from itchiness and pain in my cheek., It becomes VERY RED, and sore. I am always spraying on it the Avene product... Doc told me it will get better when I give birth and go back home to my husband.

I cant wait to give birth. This is driving me insane!

I just cant believe this could be back after a Roaccotane-6months treatment, and after 7 years

My question is: will it fade away once I go back to Qatar? Or will it stay the same? I am so scared to have it all the time. I am going to book an appt with my derm to check it. I dont want to go on Roaccutane again!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you think? Sorry for the long post. Thank you if you made it this far

If it is rosacea, it will not be treated with roaccutane.
If you want to breastfeed your baby, you cannot use roaccutane anyway even if what you are suffering from is a form of acne and not rosacea.

I am a little surprised of the "treatment" your doc gave you, maybe that is just because of your pregnancy. There are stronger treatments available, but it might be that they cannot be used because of your baby.

Please have a look here: http://www.skincarephysicians.com/ro...treatment.html

And you might want to search a bit more on the subject.

Good luck, HTH,lara

Oh you poor thing! I know when I have yeast/candida overgrowth that my skin gives me all kinds of trouble.
Maybe introduce some coconut oil into your diet or if you already use it, maybe a little more. Sugar would probably aggravate it and probiotics couldn't hurt. I don't know if it would be better or worse when you travel again but getting used to whatever climate you are in is key, I would think.
Good luck to you.
