board book mentions mother's milk!

I found this board book at TJ Maxx today and on the very first page it says:

"Little HIPPO asks his mommy, "Can I eat grass like you?"
Mom says, "Now you need my milk, but soon you'll eat grass too!"

All the other animals are eating species appropriate foods also, no turtles drinking milk from bottles or other such nonsense!

I didn't even realize that hippos were mammals! I guess I didn't think about it!

We currently have a book checked out from the library that shows a hippo nursing--I didn't know they nursed underwater! We also have a board book with a dolphin drinking mama's milk. DS2 points to that picture and says, "num num!" (our word for nursing)

The book 'Mama Mama' has the lines "Mama, mama, soft as silk. Give me warmth & give me milk". There are some other ones out there, too. That's the only one we have atm, besides 'Michelle, the Nursing Toddler', which is more of a weaning book. There's also ones called 'I'm Made from Mama's Milk', Mama's Milk, We Like to Nurse & Mama Means Milk

Looks like a really cute book, thanks for the tip!

Another nursing one (an older book, I think) is called The Best Gifts

We love "Mama Mama"...DS always says, "Baby cat nurse mama...so nice!"
I think it's definitely an AP book...the pandas clearly cosleep and the koala is totally babywearing! :

Books about mammals at the library are good for showing nursing animals. If the text is too advanced for the child it doesn't matter as long as you get one with really good pictures.
