Oh gosh, and I'm the opposite of Queen. I've got a sensitive or "irritable" uterus, which means it spasms constantly, and RRL actually makes the BH much much worse, so I have to avoid it.
Drinking RRL tea can be very helpful for some mamas though, and I'd drink it if I could tolerate it for sure (I tried it again this pregnancy and it was immediately obvious not a good idea. Oh well).
But BH usually signifies either a need for hydration, or that you're pushing yourself too hard. (Most women don't have irritable uterus issues, and BH for most mamas means drink more water and/or slow down a bit.)
justKate, try drinking a tall glass of water, and sitting/lying down for a few minutes when you feel your abdomen tighten up. In addition to or in lieu of taking RRL (depending on how well you tolerate it -- if it's okay then go for it!), magnesium can be very helpful, because it has a mild relaxant effect on muscles. So make sure your magnesium and other mineral intake is good, also.
And be sure you're emptying your bladder when you need to -- don't hold it. That can make BH much worse (and trigger UTIs too).

But I don't really feel tired until the late afternoon. If I remember to take a walk, then that usually helps me stay awake a bit longer.
