When did they start the every two weeks visit? Last visit (last week) was 27 weeks, and they said not to come back for 4 more weeks (31 weeks).

But I saw an OB, as my midwife was out sick.

heinz-- Don't feel bad, I'm not due until the very end of the month, the 25th. So I'm 27 weeks... just coming up on 28 weeks. I start seeing my midwife every two weeks now, so I'm definitely feeling pregnant!

I originally told my husband he wasn't allowed to get me anything 'baby', because everyone else is getting us baby stuff for Christmas. But when I sat down to make him a list, that's really all I could think of that I wanted. So, on my list is a Mei Tai carrier, a bunch of bumGenius dipes (I don't think anyone will purchase these as gifts since we've been saying we're using prefolds, but I'd like to have a few of these on hand), and an mp3 player to put my birth music on (I broke my Ipod in a glass of tea, don't ask how I even managed that one!). I'm also starting my own child care business in May, so I put a few books on my list as well that are on natural learning, to prepare.

On an even better note, this being my first baby I've finally been told when my showers are going to be! I love showers, especially ones thrown for me!

I have an appointment tomorrow and I'm guessing they will start me on every 2 week appointments now. I'm not 100% sure though.

I haven't had any BH that I'm aware of.

I have no idea what to ask for for Christmas that isn't baby related. Everyone keeps asking me. A massage is a good idea I hadn't thought of, maybe I'll ask for that.

At my last appt 3 weeks ago I was told I could do my next one in 2, 3, or 4 weeks. So I go in again tomorrow and will be 2 weeks from now on (until the last month which is every week). I can't wait to find out what position the baby is in. I'm so bad at figuring that out. But all the kicks are on the top half so I figure he's probably head down. : I also want to find out what the sore spot on my belly is. I think it's getting worse, yesterday there were times when I could feel his foot coming towards the spot and I was bracing myself for the pain when he pushed there.

And it's just about 1:30am and I'm awake!! : I went to bed as usual around 9:30-10pm and woke up thinking I'd been sleeping for most of the night, after laying awake for a while I went to get a drink and realized it was only 1:15!! I don't feel big or uncomfortable I just keep waking up and feeling like it's time to get up.

I saw my midwife November 17th at 27 weeks, and now I won't see her again until December 17th when I'll be 31 weeks ... but maybe that's because she's three hours away from us. After that appointment she wants us to either make the trip down for appointments every two weeks, or at least get seen by a local GP here in between. It costs a lot in gas, so we'll probably see the local doc for BP and urine checks and a general wellness check. The local doc is a friend, so she knows that our MW is our primary caregiver.

I've been going to OB appts every 2 weeks since about 25 weeks. I'll go to every week at 36 weeks. Most of the time its just urine, weight, blood pressure, measurement, and listen to the heart. If I don't have questions I'm finished in about 10 minutes. My OB is great about taking time to explain and answer any questions I might have though and doesn't mind taking longer.

I slept awesome - the first time in weeks. It feels so good to be rested - and I had a vivid dream about this little guy that made him feel so much more real, and me so much more excited!

My appts have been every 2-3 weeks since Oct, just because of all the contractions and preterm labor issues, but they are usually quick as long as I schedule them first thing in the morning. We have a follow-up US on Friday to double check the size of one of his kidneys, so I'm looking forward to having a another peak at him and being reassured all is well.

An MP3 player is a good idea for Christmas, I've never had one, and it would be fun to play around with. Maybe dh can find a reasonable one for me to try. I'd love a massage, but quite honestly, dh is awesome at those and I feel silly spending money on one!

Does anyone know of any neat sites that sell mother's jewelry - ya know birthstones, etc? Someone suggested that for after this babe is born. Maybe I'd like a unique necklace or maybe some silver charms for my bracelet, but I'd want to see it first? Off to search...

Hoping everyone else is waking up after a good night too!

Another bad night of sleep here. First I couldn't turn off my mind from thinking about all the things we need to buy. Then the 2nd half of the night i had anxiety dreams about pumping. I guess maybe i should take the pump out of the box and look it over to help alleviate a bit if concern. But mostly it was about forgetting to pump and having to leave baby and not knowing how often to pump or having time.

I can't think of a thing I want for x-mas other than a blue tooth for my cellphone since it is now illegal to drive in California without a headset on. DH and I got married a few months ago and got a lot of gifts for the house. I also bought myself a new car a couple months ago (4 door instead of 2). So between my new marriage, baby on the way and all our wedding gifts, I feel truly blessed and satisfied. It's a nice feeling!

Well according to the midwife I'm due on the 12th too, but I'm pushing my date out a little because I think I ovulated later in the month. So I'm thinking the 15th/16th for a due date plus a day or two postdates....

As far as appointments go, I saw the midwife on Nov. 25th and won't see her again until Dec. 29th. Then I'm supposed to start going every week. Not sure why though... Maybe I'll learn that part next month!

As for Christmas ideas, I wish I had some to give too. I'm going ask for flip flop slippers, because right now I just wear socks or flip flops in the house all the time. Maybe an iTunes gift card or a magazine subscription?

I've had contractions nonstop for a couple days now (despite drinking lots of water, putting my feet up, and drinking a half glass of wine), and my sacrum pain has gotten really bad. Am going to try to go to the chiro, and hopefully that will help. And if the BH haven't calmed down by tonight, am calling my midwife tomorrow.

I'm sure I've been overdoing it. I finished all the Christmas decorations, and took Winnie out to play in the snow yesterday.

Just had my appointment this morning. BP was 110/60. Baby's heartrate was 148. I have gained about 20 pounds total. And I was measuring at 31 weeks which is what I will be on Friday. All was good!

And I told him that I was still skeptical that it's a girl. (since we were told girl with our oldest son) And he said that he has never known them to get it wrong before, but there's still that chance. So, he said that we'd take a peak at our next visit! WOOHOO!

I am generally a very hands off kind of a gal when it comes to u/s's and the like. But I have 3 boys. I would not be disappointed in the least to have another boy. BUT, I have been expecting a girl for several weeks now, and it would nice to have some assurance, just so that I don't experience any sort of disappointment at the birth. If I knew that they got it wrong, and it is actually a boy, that will at least give me some time to get excited about adding another boy to our crew. If I had waited to find out . . .until the birth . . . and it was a boy I would be thrilled. But since I am expecting a girl . . . I don't want to risk disappointment with my new baby.

So, in two weeks, we are taking a peak. Maybe that will give me some peace of mind? We'll see!

I have appointments every week, and except for a couple of two-week trials its been that way since the beginning. It's kept me off bedrest, but at this point I think DH is wondering if that's enough of a benefit- those bills are adding up!

I've measured 25 cm for the last three weeks, and 24 for the two weeks prior, then yesterday all of the sudden I measured 30 cm! I'm just barely 28 weeks, and I've never measured ahead, ever. So I'm trying to believe its a fluke, or position or something, and that our conversion to meat-eating after 23 years of vegetarianism and having great osteopathic prenatal care (and good blood flow to the uterus) aren't going to give me a 12 pound baby to push out. I mean, the healthy pregnancy is great, amazing, really, to enter the third trimester out of bed, but 6 pounders are pretty easy....

All of the sudden I'm worrying about all of the things I need to gather for the baby, and all of the tasks I want to accomplish around the house.

The two year old is suddenly ridiculously attached to me, and cried during my entire appointment yesterday because I wasn't with him, even though Papa came home from work and took the boys to the playground (all time favorite activity). It's making me more than a little nervous about being in the hospital with the new baby.

Ah! 3rd trimester- sleepless worry!

Not much sleep here last night but it was just due to pregnancy and not any of my kids. No BH yet here, I've had them at the end of each pregnancy but not till like the last month and not frequently.

I'm currently waiting to hear from my husband on wether he's been hired or not; if it's no then I'm just going to crawl into a corner and cry myself to sleep because we have nothing left.

Hi everyone,

I'm 29 weeks now, due the 15th (though I tell everyone the 20th). I walk better some days than others, but that's okay.

I think the schedule of appointments can vary. My midwife saw me every six weeks in the beginning, instead of every four. Next Tuesday is my next appointment, which is four weeks from my last, and she said that after this we will go to every three weeks until the last month, when we will do once a week. She says this is the "new schedule."

I too don't know if I have BH. I never felt any with my first. To tell the truth, my belly always feels hard like a basketball. I have been having some funny cramping though. One evening I had it for about 2 hours - it stopped when I sat still, but when I walked it started up again. When it first started I found myself leaning against the wall and breathing through it, and I got excited for labor! It felt like a contraction for sure except that my lower muscles were all resisting like hell (as they should at 28 weeks), and I was thinking that when it's real labor and I can relax those muscles and let them open up, it will be totally doable. I thought that was a BH at the time. But since then I have gotten a similar sensation, once from bending down too quickly and once from peeing when I had held it in too long. So I'm not sure.

My copy of Birthing from Within is arriving tomorrow. I'm psyched to finally start prepping for birth!

Our big project right now is figuring out how we will pay for childcare for 2 children after I go back to work, and how to fulfill my dream of working part time for a while. That's a toughie.

The baby is getting crazy active stretching and pushing like an octopus. I think I've discovered the source of my tummy bruising--it's coming from within! My DH said, "Uh-huh" and I said, "You realized that already? Why didn't you say anything?" He just smiled. He bugs me that he is much better at interpreting my symptoms (menstrual, pregnancy, etc.) than I am. I hope that means he'll keep me on track and recognize any PP depression in time to help me get through it.

For Christmas, all I can think of wanting is baby items! Our little home doesn't need more stuff, but our little person will! We are looking for a video camera (my gift to DH) and a rocker (possibly recliner--DH's gift to me) as our main gift exchange. Not very "surprise" but they are both fairly big ticket items and pretty much take up more than our usual Christmas budget. My little secret baby pampering item is this, but I think I'll just have to be content with a hand-me-down my breast friend pillow (Which I'm thankful for! The hand-me-downs and yard sale finds are making it possible for us to buy a camera and rocker without going broke!).

We have a birth center close by that does pregnancy massage. Mmm. A half hour visit isn't terribly expensive either. I wonder if they would have the capibility of letting me lie down face forward? I miss lying on my tummy!

I had a very vivid dream the other night. I dreamed that I gave birth to a little boy in my bed and while lying on my side (hmm). He was a big, beautiful baby and responded immediately to my voice. His eyes were a little bit crossed. I dreamed that another woman (not my regular midwife) was there and wanted to cut his cord right away, but I was arguing with her and telling her not to (very strange). I woke up wondering where the baby was, why he wasn't crying, and thinking "Whew, isn't it great that I'm not pregnant anymore?" It was a shock to feel the baby kick from inside!

Usually for me, it was in the 30's. This pregnancy, it was supposed to be 28 weeks. But today, I won myself weekly visits until Mia's born, so I get to skip the 2 week appointments. But yeah, usually, it started for me in the 30's in my low risk pregnancies.

Yes! I started doing this again and it is helping not only with the sleep and RLS, but possibly with the leg/hip pain as well!! Woo hoo!!! (Hey, that's something to be excited about!) For me, I do the Calc/Mag/D seperately, but it would probably be easier to do them all together.

I just broke down and ordered two new (larger) pairs of maternity pants, because mine are painfully tight now. : Next up I need to find some bigger shirts because mine (Old Navy maternity tees) are not covering my tummy anymore. Grr grr grr. I hate spending money on clothes I will only wear for 10-13 more weeks. :

In good news, my hip pain has been much better the last couple days (knock on wood!)
