I'm 99% sure, anyway, opinions anyone?
here's the timeline:
last thursday, she had music class. it was the first time we'd been out in several days, since she'd been down with a regular cold the week prior, and was just starting feel pretty ok again-still not 100% fiesty again though.
she jumped around and hugged and rolled about with her 2 buddies, who i found out midway through the class, had just both gotten flu mist.
i threw up in my mouth a little, and didn't say anything, since the mama is very good friend, and we have had the vax discussion already, and i didn't know how to respond. well, honestly, i was upset b/c she brought her girls around all the other kids, & my kid and baby-only thing i can think is she didnt know it sheds. She'd never knowingly expose anyone to live flu virus (well, beyond her own kids, oy...anyway)
so i prayed and watched dd and ds closely, made she she ate well, and we all washed hands, ect. Friday we stayed home b/c of weather, and Saturday, almost exactly 48 hrs after coming in contact with her friends, she begins to spike a fever, which at it's highest was around 102 and change. She had chills, body aches, thirst, no appetite, clear runny nose and weakness for 2 days. poor little biscuit
Flu, no?
i treated her fever with a bit of motrin when i felt she needed it, and she ate lots of popsicles and juice and kefir-she is now, a week later, finally drying up. She has a frequent cough that is sometimes junky, and some congestion, but her energy is back and so is her appetite.
i havent spoken to my friend since we saw them last week-im wondering if i should say anything. and if so, what? i'd like for her to know about the flu mist shedding issue, and i want her to make the connection that dd got the flu after being exposed to her girls...but i dont want to come across as hostile or like im angry at HER, b/c like i said earlier, i feel sure she wouldnt have exposed anyone knowingly.
also worth mentioning that no one else in her class was sick, although i just remembered the teacher had been out the previous week sick...i don't think it was the flu though...and she was not at all visibly sick. dang, what if it was the teacher....
anyone have any advice?
