What books would you LOVE to see as a movie?

The title says it all...

I would love to see Jean Auel's Earths Children series as movies. I know they made Clan of the Cave Bear as a movie but it was bad and I like to pretend it doesn't exist lol.

Sea of Trolls - This is one of my fave books and there are not enough good Viking movies.

Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Stories series - One of my fav series and like Sea of Trolls the world needs some good movies with Vikings.

I'll second the Jean Auel books.
I also like historical movies from a Native American perspective. So if any historically accurate books were made into movies I'd watch them.
I have a fascination with the ice age also, so stories where that time is the backdrop would make a good movie to me. I had read another series other than the Jean Auel ones that was a decent series but I can't remember the titles, it's been awhile since I read them.

My first choice is your fist choice. Would so love to see all those and a total remake of TCOTCB.

Lilian Jackson Brauns The Cat Who Series

Sue Graftons A-Z series.

Was it the series that took place in North America about the people that crossed the land bridge?

DaughterofKali I def agree there are so many good books lol

I did forget another fav book of mine, Ice Station by Matthew Riley. Total brain candy book but lots of action, it would be an awesome movie. I started reading it and did not put it down until I was finished it about 5-6 hours later. I heard some movie studio bought the rights years ago but never hear anything more

Yes! Marc and I adore this book and it would make such a good movie!

There are so many for me as well. The movie would have to adhere very closely to the book. I'm a purist and I get mad at significant departures from the narrative.

-The Mitford series by Jan Karon (I could see this as a TV miniseries)
-The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue
-Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud

APBTluv, I think your thinking of the same one I was. In the first book they crossed the landbridge after their village was trampled by an angry mammoth. The mammoth was mad because his mate was killed.

For sheer fun: Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series....

None. They're never any good and I'm always left royally pissed off.

* Can I say Perfect by Judith McNaught?
Yes, it is just a cheesy romance, but I'd watch it like there is no tomorrow. :

The Pillars of the Earth - As a HBO or Showtime mini-series, long and well-done like John Adams or the Tudors.

The Pickup, by Nadine Gordimer - I actually didn't enjoy the book all that much, but as I was reading I kept thinking it would make a great movie with the differing African scenes.

When Zachary Beaver Came to Town - A young adult novel that read in my mind just like a movie, sweet and off-beat (about a freak-show fat kid that get abandoned in a small town).

I don't think I want to see it (in the I am sure the book would be better sense), but if I were optioning movies I would definitely do the Stephanie Plum books. Here's a website where people ponder casting of the movie:

I'd like to see those, and Earth's Children. I have no faith that they'd be done well, but I'd like to see an attempt.

I'd also like to see some of R.A. Salvatore's books about Drizzt DoUrden made into a movie or movies. They'd probably be really cheesy, but I'm okay with that.

I wouldn't mind seeing one or two Nancy Garden books as a movie, provided they are well done. Same with Tamora Pierce.
