this might be against the rules but have you tried Ravelry (www.ravelry.com). The pattern browser has a ton of free patterns for dolls and doll clothes. A bunch are American girl doll or Barbie sized but thre are alot others too, there is one for a wool soaker for a baby born doll.
Also for shorties or longies you can use the itchy fingers longies pattern (you can find it on Ravelry) it is a formula pattern so you can just put the dolls measurements into the pattern and you will have perfect fitting doll longies.
