Can someone point me in the direction of a website where one could apply for a grant to launch a business?

Thanks!

did you google it? I know i've seen one before. I think I even mailed it to myself, but I can't get my email right now. I'll have to find it and get back to you.

There is no such thing as grants for for-profit business's in the United States. If anyone tells you they can help you get one, hold on tightly to your wallet.

Your best bet is to try to get an SBA backed loan from your bank.

Ditto. I am a non-profit consultant and grantwriter and there are no grants for for-profit businesses at all. However like another poster suggested look into the SBA as well as any organizations in your state that support women owned businesses that may provide low interest start up loans.

What about sites like these? They say they offer grants for businesses. I can't see the sites as I am currently at work, but i think I have visited them before.

Oriole,

Check out this site: http://cweboston.org/ They have a lot of courses on starting your business, and they can put you in touch with people that do micro-loans.
