I am newly pg, about 9 weeks and I am just starting to do more research on everything. I have two sons, youngest being 9 and a 9 year old step son who has autism. I am convinced his autism was caused by his vaccines.

My oldest was vaccinated, my youngest wasn't until he was 6. I am on the fence with this baby about delayed vaccines vs not vaccinating all together. And by delayed, I mean school aged.

I will be home with the baby, might babysit a kid or two, but my child wont be in daycare. My older kids are vaccinated at this point as is my husband and myself. Really if you want "herd" immunity, this kid would have it. I will also breast feed etc.

My husband and I aren't sure what we will decide to do, so we are looking at options. Obviously my husband has great fears of any vaccinations early on, he is scared we will deal with the same issues as my step son, but he is scared that never doing it will be a probably. I just kind of laugh because I myself have had many of the diseases that we vaccinate against (cp, measles and mumps) and this was before I ever got the vaccines. My mom keeps reminding me that the illnesses were not bad at all and just more annoying then anything. She said her fear is people are just scared to miss work. (makes sense to me).

Anyway, just looking for ideas.

What ideas do you want?

We don't vaccinate at all. Never will. My oldest grandson age 11, has an exemption for public school and we have had no problems with that at all. My younger two grandsons ages 3 and 5, will use exemptions also.

All three have never been kept from the public. They all took music and participated in all sort of other fun activities since they have been very young. We have never worried about them getting sick.

Although they did not go to day care, they were together with many kids every day at play grounds or groups. I actually don't even get it that mothers think because their kids are not vaccinated that they have to be sort of sheltered or something.

All three grandchildren wer breast fed as long as they wanted. And we do eat very healthy. But that does not mean that if you eat poorly that your kids benefit from vaccines, quite the opposite, if they are bf, they are more likely to have a vaccine reaction because of what is being put into their bodies.

Anyway, I don't know what "ideas" you are looking for? Welcome to this forum

Well more the difference in avoiding vaccines all together, forever, and delaying them until school age. Any pros or cons. I work for the school district (wont continue after the baby is born) and I know that not vaccinating is not a problem at all as far as schooling is concerned, it is more trying to explore all the options for all posibilities.

Well, you actually don't have to decide right now. Just delay until school age and in mean time keep researching. I bet by that time you will have decided to delay altogether.

Not sure what you're looking for but my kids are unvaxed and currently I'm quite comfortable with that decision.

My 7 month old son is unvaxed and is in daycare. IMO the risks FAR outweigh any benefit. Keep your baby healthy, breastfeed and work on boosting the immune system.

Look through the archives for each disease and do a risk/benefit analysis of each shot.

I started researching when I was pregnant and by the time my due date came, I decided to not vax at all. I am still happy with my decision and so glad I did research while pregnant and not with a newborn in my arms.

Happy Reading!

Welcome.

I'm mama to an unvaxed 8 month old. I have no plans on doing any vaxes for her.

welcome!
I'm 16wks and have slowly ruled out every vax. I would start with the vax schedule and the internet. Research each disease, then the vax (whats in it, what it REALLY protects against etc) then decide which is worse, the disease or the vax. Every one for me was the vax.

Good luck!
