I gave birth to my daughter Hero on the morning of Nov. 18th in my bed. She's my first baby. The experience was so intense and amazing-- I just want to share it with everyone! The birth story is long (I write for a living), but I'd love for you to read it. There are photos too (and video coming soon!)

Thanks for sharing. I was about 5 minutes away from a transfer with my 1st for retained placenta, I remember feeling just as you did, praying. Except my midwife never suggested pitocin or anything (my new one does!). I remember that part being far worse than the birth, just as you said, emotionally, and for my physically as I had midwives doing so much uterine massage I felt like I had them standing on top of me. Then the gentle traction I felt I was being pulled apart, then it came. I'm glad everything worked out for you and your family, and what a neat description of your birth!

Sounds like a very beautiful birth! Had my first (and all babies) at home too, definitely had that tremendous, amazing, accomplished feelings....call it a birth high that lasted for weeks. Glad that your placenta did make it out without surgery!

Congratulations on your homebirth! I had my first child (a daughter) at home on New Year's Day of last year, and it was a beautiful, empowering experience. I'm so glad that you also had such a beautiful birth.
