Please Help me Save my Diapers!!

We just invested in a bunch of OS pockets. I had read Weleda was safe to use as a diaper rash cream, but now all my diapers are leaking I tried scrubbing with dawn and a toothbrush, but they're still leaking!! I am going to try two plain hot washes now, but I'm getting scared! We absolutely canot afford to have these diapers ruined, and I have to do a complete diape/outfit change everytime he pees ! ugh! PLEASE HELP!!

Have you put them in the dryer? If they are PUL they made just need to be resealed with the heat from the dryer.

yeah, I put them in the dryer yesterday after I did the dawn stuff

Maybe do a HOT wash with a squirt of dawn in the wash. Then lots of rinses. I like Weleda's cream for getting rid of rash, but I don't think it's really safe for cloth. It stained my prefolds and caused a weird smell that took awhile to get out, but it eventually came out.

I love my weleda and have been known to rave about it - I'm sorry this is causing you trouble! I'll have to be careful when I rave!

My friend has had really good luck putting her dipes in the dishwasher to strip. If you happen to have jetdry in there, just stop it before it gets to a rinse cycle. She runs it multiple times and that has saved several diapers for her.

The dawn and using extra extra hot water to rinse the heck out of things has worked for me, though my issues have been more stink than repelling. When I need to strip my dipes, I have my hubby turn up the hot water heater (temporarily!) until I'm done doing my diapers.

Keep trying, Mama, don't give up. You'll get it!

I just starting using CDs about a week or so ago on my 16 month old, and plan on using them on the new baby in May. Sometimes I think it's more trouble than it's worth - it seems like so much can go wrong! GL - I hope your problem goes away very soon!
