Medical Transcription vs. Coding

Anyone know the difference? Anyone done both? Is one easier to get into than the other?

Transcription deals more with the patient aspect of things - creating the patient report. Coding is the insurance/financial side of things - billing.

I've heard that Coding is harder to get into as a work at home career, but that may just be hearsay. Check the Bureau of Labor Statistics for both professions. That should answer any questions on pay and availability.
