Have you lost weight with the coconut oil? - Page 3

So yesterday I was able to find some extra virgin co and I picked up some acv vinegar. I was so excited to try it this morning, but omg, I am fighting to hold down the co (and I only took 1/2 tbs). The acv wasn't bad (and I took a full 1 tbs of that), but the co was.
So I have 2 questions. Is 1 tbs enough daily (split between 2 doses)? And does it get easier?

One mama wrote that she took 4-5 tablespoons, and lost tons of weight. So the real question, how badly do you want to loose the weight? I would take atleast 2 tablespoons, but more couldn't hurt. It is terrible to take solid, but it easy to take as liquid, and wash down with water.

Ok, I'll try to stomach more. I think maybe I didn't melt it enough, so tonight I'll make sure it's melted all the way.

i need to do this again. after my first baby i ate ALOT of coconut oil/milk/meat and it really seemed to help me lose weight. now after baby2 i would really love to lose more weight before possibly conceiving #3. i don't suppose it'll do anything for my jelly belly? i may be forced to exercise...

how important is the acv to weight loss?

i wonder if eating spoonfuls of co would help with the horrible sugar cravings i've been having lately.

ime, scratchy throat = allergy
have you noticed anything like that with any other foods or vinegars?

Did you take them separately or together? I find if I take them mixed together in the water it goes down easier.

Maybe I'll try that. Thanks!

And I noticed a bit of stnging/scratchy throat also.

No, I haven't noticed the same issue with eating vinegar in salads and what not. I kind of think it may be the acidity and that there is no other food to maybe cut it some? When I was drinking the tonic and taking 10-15 minutes to drink it, the scratchiness would last awhile. Today when I drank it straight and washed it down with water it went away pretty fast.

I did once have an allergic reaction to a liquid sublingual b-12/niacin supplement before. I took it and had terrible painful throat and stomach, I was seriously on the floor in pain crying. I broke out in hives all over. I later learned it was the niacin I'm allergic too. so I kinda know what to look for, but this doesn't seem to me to necessarily be an allergy. I definately need to be cautious though.

Thoughts?

I just started this today too...I'm already addicted to the CO. Is that bad This will be interesting to see what happens anyway

I do have a question. Were you eating TF before starting the CO and ACV and this is just a boost or is the CO and ACV along with a diet change. I'm relatively new to TF and am slowly changing my (and my families) diet to TF. I'm mostly doing it but really need to cut out all the sugar and processed Trader Joe's stuff that we've had around here for a while. Our pantry is almost empty of all that junk...yay!! (Refined white sugar and flour have been gone for years, I'm talking about the "healthy" junk lol) I'm hoping the CO will help with the awful sugar cravings. It might because now all I'm craving is CO. yummm

Hopefully I'll be back with happy news to report

Bohemama,
I only recently embarked on this TF journey, last summer is when I began to slowly convert some of our foods but we are not 100%TF now. Working on it. I am not craving sugar this week at all, last week I was but I wasn't getting enough coconut oil I think (I believe I'm getting in at least 3 tbl a day now). I'm also taking the raw Bragg's apple cider vinegar this week as well, today I am up to 1 tbl in the morning and evening. I feel really good today, more energy. Good Luck, I hope you do well and feel great.

I hope this question isn't disrespectful. I don't mean it to be. I'm wondering, if you've lost weight with the ACV/CO combo, did you have a lot of weight to lose, or just a few pounds? I guess I'm thinking of people who are very overweight and eat junk and then say "Oh, I cut out soda and I dropped 20 pounds in a month!" or something like that. I don't have a lot of weight to lose, maybe 10-15 pounds. I actually love the taste of CO (I use it on my hair and skin) and would totally be able to choke down the ACV with it, if I really felt it would make a difference.

I didn't actually have alot of weight to loose. That is why I have to be careful how much I take. I was down to 110 lbs from it. Not good! I was doing for health reasons, but the weight lose came with it. I am a comfortable 120-125.

I was wondering the same thing. I do have a fair amount to loose (40lb would be perfect). I've been eating pretty good for a while (by mainstream standards anyway) it's the amount of food that I like to eat that is my problem

I started with 15 pounds to lose. Right now I'm not avoiding the holiday snacks, I'm not really craving them either. So I believe I will maintain this month (where I normally gain in December). I've also stepped up my workout to almost every day. So far, the scale has gone down a pound so I have 14 lose but then again that could be water weight. I try to weigh myself weekly so I don't get too obsessed with it. I do feel great though, I have more energy and my skin is so much less dry and flakey than is was a month ago!

I started the ACV last week, but I was barely getting 1-2 tsp of it in me, now I'm able to get the full 2 tbl a day. I started using coconut oil in small quanities maybe 2 months ago, but now I'm taking it more like a supplement so I'm getting 2-4 tablespoons a day. I try for 3 plus I cook with it. I noticed the one pound loss this morning. I really do consider my "start" with all this as yesterday because that's when I was able to do the full amount of ACV.
I have to pick up more VCO today and am thinking of picking up ACV too. I really don't like the idea of taking it straight. Would it not work the same if I take in a full glass of water?
Well, I'm not sure what to think about it but I've lost 4lb since I started taking the ACV and VCO on Tuesday (12/9). I'm guessing that's really just some water weight right? I hope that it does continue though...I really want to loose all of this baby weight. If you can call it that since my youngest is almost 27mo . Oh! I'm also on my period and ususally I gain and I still lost the 4lb. Yay!

Also I started watching out for any refined sugars in any food I've eaten since Tuesday and I'm not eating anything processed either. I don't know if that's what this weight loss is and if I weren't taking the CO and ACV I might have lost it anyway or if the CO/ACV is really helping.

Either way...I feel tons better about myself and want to keep up with the CO/ACV because I like it and it makes me feel like I'm doing something good for myself, which I deserve and have been neglecting to do for a long time!

How's everyone else doing?

I'm on day 3 and I don't know what's going on, but my stomach has been bothering me really bad. I've also been getting light headed. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping it's unrelated.
Maeve,
I didn't get light headed but the first few days I had some digestion issues related to the coconut oil. I also had slight stomach irritation from the acidity of the ACV. I was taking it as a tonic and now I take it in one shot, fast and wash it down and I have no problems whatsoever. I think sipping on the tonic was prolonging the exposure and by taking it quick it doesn't have enough time to irritate my stomach.

I hope you feel better soon

Bohemama,
Awesome! 4 pounds is great. I lost another 1/2 pound so I'm down 1 1/2 pounds so far! I don't normally weigh myself more than once per week but I was curious to see if my first pound down was just water weight, I don't think it is.
So, I have problem

I went home Monday night and hit the VCO harder than I had before (2 tbsp). I woke up in the morning with a horrible stomach ache and thought "Oh no! too much to fast!". It turns out I had a nasty stomach virus (my entire family had it). So, the VCO didn't make me sick but, because of the mental association, I feel queasy if I even look at the jar! Ugh. Not sure what I'm going to do. Maybe it'll pass....

I haven't been light headed, but I also have had some *digestion* issues from the CO. I did notice today that if I don't take the CO right after I take the ACV my stomach does not feel good for a while. I hope you feel better soon!

Congrats Missa! I don't usually weigh myself at all, but I can't help it I want to see if things are changing lol.

I don't know if this is a silly question, but how do you know if it's water weight or not? A friend and I are supporting each other in weight loss. I was talking to her about the 4lb. and she immediately said it was water weight. Which is fine, I guess, but how do I know I'm actually loosing? That sounds silly now that I have it typed out It just seems a little fast.
