Sorry about the OB being a word they won't let me say despite the fact she obviously is.

Don't necesarily write off a teaching hospital. I love mine. It is the only one that does VBAC in my area and I couldn't be happier. The drs that are teaching them are wonderful, open minded, and up to date.

I am probably overly jaded about teaching hospitals -- I was with one for my first pregnancy and had an awful experience. I may look further into this one, thanks.

I only had one problem and that was with a student pediatrician. She just came in took the babe and started manhandling her. No introduction or anything she also didn't sanitize her hands first. This time, the moment anyone steps in the room, "If you are a student you are not to touch my child"

I don't know if you are involved over on the UC(Unassisted Childbirth) forum yet. I was going to have a UC when I was living in Minnesota but now I'm stuck having a hospital birth that I really don't want because the country I live in is not home birth friendly. I think a UC would be best in your situation and you should have a back up birth plan just in case of an emergency. UP may also be best in your case, which means you do your own prenatal care. I can't blame you for hating docs and hospitals. I don't like them either. If they weren't so into controlling and intervening most of the time it would not be such a problem.
