Birthing wreath idea

I need some ideas for a birthing wreath I'm thinking about making for a friend. She is due December 25th and we are having a little gathering for her on Saturday. I was thinking of making some kind of wreath (not traditional green wreath but just a circular type of wreath) where everyone contributes with some sort of expression of powerful birth. I;m not sure how to pull it off, though. I don't know. Maybe getting a small metal wire wreath and having people write sayings down on pretty paper and wrapping it around the frame with wire? Yikes, i need help- my idea is definatly not creative enough.

Any ideas? Anyone do something similar?

Thanks!

edited to add: What do you think about somehow created a beaded wreath with messages of empowerment?

This is a neat idea. I've never done anything like it, but I think that the empowering messages written and wrapped around the wreath is a neat idea.

Take care,

I think that's a pretty neat idea. Although maybe tie them on with ribbon instead of wire, to add a little color and texture. You can usually pick up spools of ribbon for under $1, get several colors and just alternate them.

I'd say fill in with (fake) birth month flowers, but with a due date of the 25th, she may easily go into January. December would be Narcissus/Holly, January would be Carnation/Snow-Drop.

My friend just did exactly this for my blessingway. She bought a simple heart shaped wreath made from grapevine (I think). We passed out markers and cardstock and drew images and wrote small reminders to help empower me during birth. Then she punched a hole in the top of each one and we attached it to the wreath with hemp cord. It's hanging in my bathroom where I'm most likely to birth my baby.

It doesn't have to be fancy, so don't make it hard on yourself. It's the thought and the ritual itself that makes it such a wonderful gift. I love mine and look forward to using it during labor.
