We are going to my husband's company Christmas party this weekend, and it's a dressy event. I haven't worn makeup much in the last 3 years, but have several events between now and Christmas where I'll need to wear makeup. I'm checking on the Cosmetic safety database, but I have a bit of a time crunch to get something, so it's too late to order samples from the safer brands. My problem is that it's very difficult for me to find a foundation shade that matches my skin color. I feel like I have no choice but to go to a department store to get some foundation, so I can make sure it's a match. The problem is that those are the toxic brands.
I'll be getting the eye shadow, mascara, etc., at a pharmacy or Target, so I can shop the brands that are not as toxic for those items. I also hate the idea of spending so much money on items that won't be used very often. I have rosacea, and very uneven toned skin, so I need to wear a foundation to these nicer events. I usually wash my face with just castor oil and use Dr. Bronner's for a body wash and either olive or coconut oil for moisturizer, so my skin isn't exposed to that many toxins anymore.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
