Due date come and gone - where is my baby?! Who else?

I am now 2 days past my EDD and no baby. How annoying.

I know that I could be facing another two weeks yet and that is even more annoying.

About a week and a half ago I had 5 hours of contractions that almost sent us to the hospital, but since then, NO SIGNS of impending labor. I know I have no control over any of this, and I know I can't be pregnant forever, but I am still annoyed. Poor DH tried to "prepare me" last night for the idea that we may have another two weeks to go and I pretty much bit his head off: "I know that!! Do you think I don't know that? It isn't helping me to think about that!" I feel bad for snapping at him. He even had the good sense not to take it personally... just scratched my back and stood next to me quietly for a few minutes.

Who else is in the same boat? Commiserate with me, or impress me with your awesome attitude!!!

I'm not there yet but hang in there, sometimes no signs mean nothing, and an hour from now you could go into labor. I do hope its sooner rather than later for you just because the waiting is hard!

I've told my little one he is NOT allowed to go to 42 weeks because that puts us at January 1, and I want him born this year I have GD too though and I also don't want the induction pressure so I'd be happy if he was born any time after this weekend. So far I see no signs of compliance.

Hey, don't be sad there's no signs of impending labor. I've had 'em for a week, and still no baby. I would much rather skip the prelabor part.

Sorry you're still waiting. I *really* don't want to go past my due date either.

Yep, signs don't always mean something is about to happen. With both DS's their labor come out of absolutely nowhere.
With DD I think I lost most/some of my mucus plug a day or two before, then sporadic contrax throughout the evening before.

I'm not due till the 12th, so can't commiserate yet. I did go 3 days over my EDD with DS2, but since I had both of my others exactly 5 days before my EDD's I felt like I was 8 days over
I was starting to feel like I was never gonna have that baby!
Silly, especially considering some of the Mamas around here that have gone 42+ weeks!

I'm not past my due date yet, will be 38 weeks friday, but I have been having real ctx for about a month now. So of course I think " any day now". Well, I was. I've come to terms that I won't deliver soon. Now I say to everyone that I will be pg for forever, to not sit around and wait, bc they will be waiting for quite some time. lol

finally, i'm ready for this babe to come (though i still have to do some grocery shopping today ). dd1 was a week early, dd2 was 3 days late, so we'll see what this one decides... but i hope he/she doesn't wait too much longer (i haven't even had a hint of a contraction yet).

If I make it to midnight tonight, I"ll be past my due date. So far, each of my babies has gotten a little bit later than the previous one. My first was three days before her due date and my second was three days past his due date. I was kind of hoping this one would arrive on his/her due date, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. My next theory is that this one is waiting for the 9th to arrive. Each of my other kids have a 9 in their birthday (29th and 19th). THe only problem with that is that the 9th is almost a week away.

I was due 5 days ago. I'm officially a "December Mom" now. Just waiting and trying not to throw things at people who ask "WHEN are you going to have that baby?!".

remember 40 weeks is only a rough estimate and the average is actually closer to 41 (and is OVER 41 weeks for first time moms) I wish they wouldn't even give us forty week due dates because it just makes people so nervous.

If it wasn't for the GD and resulting pressure to possibly induce if I go overdue I'd be more inclined to wait patiently. Well that and running into christmas/new years/next tax year, SO inconvenient of baby not to be conceived at a better time of year for patience! (this was SUPPOSED to be a spring baby, we were only TALKING about TTC)

I'm in the same boat. And I'm tired of everyone saying, 'Oh its probably just Braxton-Hicks then." No. I had those too. This is not that.

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow so I know I could still have 3 more weeks, but I just can't even see past this weekend. I would LOVE to go this weekend. Please please please. My midwife had to do the ugly duty of scheduling my 'induction date' today at the hospital in case nothing happens. At least I managed to get her to schedule it for 15 days past my due date, even though hospital policy is 12. She was quite happy not to schedule it for Christmas Eve or Christmas so Boxing Day it is!

Anyway, so yeah. Signs don't seem to mean anything. At least not here.

Hey Terra, me too. Today's my due date. I guess having gone through this before (DS was 40+6), I know it can happen all of a sudden. And it will happen . So I've been trying to prepare myself for a long haul. But last night I had mild contractions and diarrhea all night (fun), so now I'm on pins and needles wondering if it will happen today, watching the clock and all that. I kind of prefer the state I was in yesterday when I was just waiting.

Anyway... my best advice (if I have any) is to only look at it as one day at a time (not 2 weeks). Go to bed each night like you're going to have the baby tomorrow, so at least you'll be rested. And give yourself little things to do each day - nice lazy things - that you wouldn't be able to do otherwise. I don't know if you are still working or not, but if not try lazing around the house a bit. If you're bored of lazing about, find a small project you can complete in a day. That's what's working for me anyway. I've been on maternity leave since monday, and it's way bizarre to have this much time on my hands.

Hi, I'm a November due date mama moved over to December. I'm now 11 days late but its par for the course for me. My first three children were between 11-19 days late. Trying to be patient and realize all the people bugging me about this little one just love me and are excited to meet him or her.

I think tonight would be a great time to have baby. But its up to the little one.

Ahhh, I knew I wasn't alone!! Thanks for joining November moms... I need the perspective!!

I was kind of hoping she was holding out to be born on the birthday of the King of Thailand - as that is one of the luckiest days of the year to be born in Thailand. That would be today (December 5th). Still no signs, but my pelvis bones ache more every day...

Actually, last night we went to a movie, during which I had some belly tightening accompanied by sharp pains in my vaginal canal, maybe cervix? I don't know. What are those about? Normal, I am assuming. I thought maybe it meant stuff was opening up, but no signs of that - mucus-wise anyway.

I'm actually due near the end of Dec (just 37 weeks today) but I always go over here. The first was 41.5 weeks, the others went 2-3 days past the due date.

What I can say here is what I've found helpful is to find that place, dive into yourself emotionally, spiritually, physically. Don't answer the phone for those relatives who keep on asking questions, give your DH instructions not to discuss any people's inquiries into "did she have the baby yet?" Enjoy the last days of your pregnancy. Set up the tripod, take some beautiful pictures of you and your pregnant body outside. Take some time to take a nice warm bath. Really savor the thoughts you have at the end, and take some time to focus on it. Embrace these last few days of your pregnancy.

Because, really this all passes. I know it seems long now, but in a blink of an eye you will be holding your baby. When life's momentum starts going time passes so quickly...

Thank you, I needed that! I'm due today and have been feeling REALLY impatient. I think this is what I need to do.

aack!!! I'm 41 weeks. I can't believe it... I was actually entertaining the notion that I might go early. What a bunch of crap!

My emotions are a crazy rollercoaster. I alternate between being completely as peace with "when she comes, she comes" and enjoying all my free time, to being teary and dejected that she isn't here yet.

Part of the issue is that my parents and siblings are coming to visit us right before Christmas, the later she arrives, the less babymooning/recovery time we will have. I was really counting on having 2 or 3 weeks.

On Saturday doctor did an internal and said she expected I would go within the next three days... well, now it is Tuesday. I lost a HUGE chunk of plug on Sunday morning and I lost even more Monday and this morning... how much of that stuff is there..? I swear I've lost about a softball sized amount by now.

I feel exactly like you, a rollercoaster of emotions! My main worries are also Christmas arriving and being a first time mom not used to things yet. Also, people are stupid and keep telling me my baby is going to be too big now that I'm 40 +2.

I went to a moms night out at a pottery place on Friday and the lady working was like "when are you due? last week?! :" Jerk : I then had to tell her I was only 38 weeks and she's like "oh, wow!" w/ this look like I'm the biggest whale on two feet who she couldn't imagine could get any larger :

Why not ask, when are you due? why the rude comment after that?! Is this okay in your mind to tell someone? and if so why, lady? Grrr...

Mamas aren't even due yet and we get the crap...who really needs that after your due date comes and goes?! Some people.
