Does he like to dip stuff? My kids love to dip. Fruit into coconut milk yogurt, carrots and celery into mashed avocado, almost any cooked vegetable into ketchup (we use agave sweetened) -- carrots, cauliflower, broccoli.
For a smoothie, we do coconut milk or coconut milk yogurt, carrot juice (sweetens it), berries, ice, canned peaches. Or we do a pina colada one with coconut milk, pineapple and a little maple syrup to sweeten it. Oh, sorry, you said she's refusing coconut. If she's liking the chicken broth, maybe you can cook other things in the broth (quinoa, carrots, broccoli, etc.). Have you tried dried fruits? Aren't they supposed to be helpful for constipation -- like prunes? or raisins or any of those (though looking today, I couldn't find too many that didn't have added sugar).
Are you avoiding wheat or all gluten? Just curious because of the oat. Are these IgE allergies? These are just curiosity questions. Is there anything else besides the constipation that's odd. Because if these are IgE allergies, she could still have intolerances as well (soy jumps out at me, because it's the only one of the top ones that you are NOT avoiding).

Well she refuses coconut I think just because she refuses everything. I don't striclt avoid soy but honestly with her reacting to stuff over the last month or so, she has only had, red beans, rice, chicken, turkey and millet rice cereal. Her ana allergies are milk, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts and I think chocolate (bad halloween episode). She was skin tested for soy and nothing showed up, but we all know that doesn't mean much. I don't think she has ever tried dipping, mostly because her diet isn't varied enough to try it.

They usually both have a safe breakfast (they are intolerant to DIFFERENT things but I try to find the things that they can both have -- buckwheat pancakes, sausage, bacon, sorghum scones, etc.). DS gets a safe lunch for school, and DD2 eats with me. I am only avoiding gluten, dairy, and soy, but I only eat things for lunch that she can have, so that she does feel included. She's been avoiding a lot of foods since she was a year old, so she's used to it by now and even knows what she can and can't eat. Out in the world, there are many things she can't eat, and will feel left out, but I prefer home to be a safe haven, where there are treats they can have, dinners where they don't have to eat separately, etc.

Honestly I started to do really badly when I ate as restricted as she does. Its why she is getting Neocate now. And her brother is picky like her. When I say picky I mean hunger strike picky.

The neocate will also make them VERY constipated (dd takes it too). We use a teaspoon of benefiber kids in her OJ in the morning, and a prune.
Maddie just went through that phase. She wouldnt eat any meals, but i think it mostly had to do with me constanly giving her snacks throughout the day.
Are you giving her Noecate infant or the Jr?
I always try to make dd's breakfast as healthy and balanced as i can. I cram as many fats and nutrients into her then. We do chicken sausage, flax waffles, Calcium OJ, and some type of fruit usually or oatmeal. And i try to make every calorie count. DD had some weight issues so we did LOTS of avacado, and dried fruits, have you tried to give her the coconut yogurt? It isn't coconutty at all, so maybe that will help, pluss the probiotics might help with her constipation issues. And if it gets really bad, you might want to have your DR give you a rx for a stool softener.
As for what she eats to what you eat, we tried to make every dinner that we ate at home with her the same as what she was having that night. We did 4 bean chili, fajitas (i don't know if there are wheat free/corn free tortillas or not, but you could even do fajita salads or use letuce to wrap them in.) Pasta (rice noodles) lost of potato meals, veggie soups, Chicken noodle/rice soup, turkey burgers, meatloaf, and our fall back meal for dd was always chicken nuggets, and sweetpotato "fries".
It does sound to me that her constipation might not be helping the situation. Whenever DD is having issues, she never eats either.

She actually regulated to the Neocate (bowl wise). I do the junior with her since she is 22 months. I wonder if benefiber would be ok. I avoid the ped at all costs though. I don't like going in for one thing and leaving with a whole host of other "problems". I am looking for a family practitioner but I think they have my picture up or something (blacklisted I think

).
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I am filing them away in my head. I think part of her constipation may just be her body trying to get back to baseline, or for the first time.
She had been getting a lot of corn stuff before we caught onto that one and there was a milk incident and a chocolate incident about a month ago. I don't even know if that makes sense or if I am just rambling. But maybe her poor damaged gut is just trying to heal. I wonder if I should take the beans out though just in case.
