mirena users -- tell me about your spotting...

I just got Mirena (7wks Postpartum). My PP-bleeding had stopped 2wks after having DD. As soon as I had the Mirena placed I started spotting. I've been spotting ever since. So, I started having to use pantyliners back on Nov 18th and have been now for getting close to a month now...

I know it can cause spotting but I guess I didn't think I'd have to use a pantyliner everyday....forever....:

What's your experience?

Will I ever stop bleeding...

You will eventually. It took me several months, as I recall, though.

several months for me...although I had mine removed recently after having for a little over 2 years.

I bled for about 13 or 14 weeks after insertion.
After that my periods were very short and light.

I spotted for two months, got a couple weeks off, then on again for a couple months, then a couple weeks off and then on again... So basically 5 months now.

I spottted off and on for probably 2 months, but it seemed like FOREVER. It never happened again, though. I still got a period every 28 days but they were really light, almost like spotting is when I don't have the Mirena.

I had an almost regular period for 12 weeks and then it was like a light switch got turned off and it was over. Now I get a very light period MAYBE 1x a month more like every few months. Sounds normal to me.

That seems like a deal breaker to me! I was just considering getting Mirena... what a drag to bleed for so long. Or maybe I am spoiled...it has been a couple years!!

I bled for the 3 months i had it on (I wish it had just been spotting... even my doctor said it was normal)
Only when the darn thing was off, I stopped bleeding

i had spotting for three months (i got the mirena inserted 6 weeks pp), and then EVERY SINGLE TIME i dtd w/ dh :

after about a year i was over it and had it removed. i never did get af while it was in, but i think that nursing had a lot to do with that.
