I'm so sorry for your loss. I've been thinking about you too, I could only imagine how hard this has been for you.

I'm getting out the 6-9 month clothes today and I can't believe it. He's 7 weeks today and the 3-6 are getting snug. I'm almost at the point where I'm catching up to needing to buy clothes.
Too funny! Nora does something similar. During the day if she is napping, you can pick her up and move her pretty much anywhere, you can get up and walk around if she's on you - out like a light. After 1 am, when she finally falls asleep, the slightest noise or movement wakes her. It's SO frustrating! But so silly! How can she sleep like a rock during the day but be such a light sleeper at night??? Srsly.

AAM - So, we didn't end up going out yesterday, DH had to do leaves and it got dark, and then we just didn't feel like going out. I wasn't too bummed, it's such an ordeal to go out. I'm hoping I get to go out today though, even w/o the baby. I'll see what DH's plans are if he could just watch her so I can go shopping.

Other than that, just enjoying my cinnamon hazelnut coffee, watching some TV, and planning on cleaning up the house today so we could perhaps get the tree up next week. Have a great Sunday everyone!!

I don't think I checked in once last week... no time! Lurking and reading, but not much time to post!

Milo is smiling big smiles, and waggling his eyebrows, and 'talking' to me! I love it!

DS1 was very gassy, very high need, and did not sleep. He didn't smile till about 4 months, so to have a baby smiling at me at 2 mos is spectacular! : It makes me feel like a good mommy. . .

Haven't gotten cards yet but trying to. The tree is up and DD has such fun decorationg it. She said she wanted to decorate another!

So, so busy....I'm reading but probably won't post much.

Well I guess last night was a good night for Samuel to 'endear' himself to me early on..... cause he was a fussy butt right after that point.. and still is even now!

Ugh.... nothing seems to please him

I read, but don't have time for replying! Just wanted to come on here and mention...

We did IT! : Nice to get over that hurdle... and it was fun too. Now we've got to figure out birth control, and damned if I'm ever doing anything hormonal again... and we've no $ or insurance... so I think it's going to be Fertility Awareness again. Anyone else doing this? I did it for over 4 years before TTC, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get back into the hang of it and we won't end up parents of two too soon.

And we nursed sidelying in bed this morning!!!! : I was just soooo tired, and didn't want to get out of bed for ANYTHING, so I just pulled her out of the co-sleeper, popped her next to me and she latched herself with no problems and I feel back to sleep! When I woke up next she was peacefully asleep herself, curled up in the crook of my arm.

Hubby and I did scientific NFP for almost 5 years before I got my IUD and got pregnant.

this is what we are going to do also. i wish i could "know" that tandem nursing would take care of fertility for a bit but im way too nervous to trust it. i need to start charting again, as Zen is now 7 weeks old and I need to at least get back into the routine. argh!!!

yeh on the nursing on your side. i dont think i could live w/o side nursing!!

AAM: im tired today. cosleeping with 2 is a struggle some nights, though i do get sleep sometimes the toddler has night terrors and I always worry about him waking the baby. And its really a struggle to side nurse 2 kiddos! lol!

Im beginning a preschool homeschooling curriculum today! Wish me luck!

WTG mama! If you're anything like me, the co-sleeper will probably begin to collect dust at night.

I suppose it's different for everyone, but DH and I went 15 years without using anything other than "common sense" (very lazy charting) for birth control, and that's what we're doing now too.

Hope everyone is well today.

AAM: Went to in-laws last night and Calla was quite the charmer. DH made kebabs for dinner over there and we all played with the baby. Unfortunately, we got home too late to put up the tree and decorate, but at least we got one. Hoping to get to it this evening.

Ours is collecting Cosette's cat hair as she decided long ago that we put it up for her. She sleeps in there every night and all day.

AAM - Still battling painful thrush. I'm on my 2nd round of diflucan and doing GSE after every feeding. The GSE does help with the burning and makes feedings tolerable. I still wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Talk about taking the joy out of nursing.

I have a ton of cleaning to do before I can even think about putting up a Christmas tree. I'm hoping to get the cleaning done this week, and the tree up this weekend. It's all up to me.

So, as a family, we decided we are going to start looking to adopt a 3rd cat. Cosette is so lonely and bored that we feel that once I go back to work, she will need a buddy. So, soon, we are going to go look for another kitten to adopt. It's so soon after losing Leeloo that it feels wrong, but we have to do what is best for our other baby. It'll be nice to have a new kitten though - it's something to look forward to.

Ok, Nora is waking up, gotta run. Have a great day everyone!

We had snow too! Snowed last week but now it's all melted. I have a bit left in my yard. Suppose to get another storm today/tomorrow.

Yeah I'm back into the swing of things with DTD too! It's nice! We plan on using Fertility Awareness again as well. I have notice some EWCM already and some cramping, I think AF might return sooner this time. I know I could have "warning" signs for a couple of months before AF comes back but I know things are happening again...ugh.

UGH! Us too! It really sucks but I think it might just take us a couple of months to get rid of it. I know with my Jess (#7) it took that long.

AAM: All is good here. G man is a smiley, laughing baby too! it's just too cute. I'm just so in love with him. Other than the thrush battle, we are good. Sleeping is good some nights and others...well we get a long stretch then up every hour. I haven't weighed G man since 5 weeks (8 weeks today), but he was 12 lbs back then, I'm sure he's gained some weight since then. I haven't done well baby checks since I had #3. I usually just weigh and measure myself. Guess I'll have to do that soon, I do like to keep a record for myself.

Maternity leave: For all the mama's that have to go back to work, sending lots of hugs. I can just imagine how hard it will be. I'm still on unemployment (won't last forever either) but have been seeking work consistently....still nothing. Economy is so bad..ugh! So with that, I decided to offer childcare in my home, I'm speaking with a family this week. So we'll see what happens there.

Good grief, you all have been busy! Only day 3 of the thread and already almost 3 pages?! Wow. I've got some catching up to do. We had a busy weekend and I still didn't do everything I wanted to.

Friday, our Christmas gift from DH's parents was delivered. It's a 50" flat screen HDTV with a really nice glass stand! WOW. So, we went shopping Sunday to get a theater/Blu Ray sound system to go with it. How fun! We also went shopping for a dress for me to wear to DH's company Christmas party (Thurs night). It's gorgeous! It's a $300 dress from BCBG for $39! YAY me! I'll post pics Friday. We also had a few of DH's friends come over on Sun morning to see Ally Rae. Saturday my in-laws came to visit Little Bit while they were in town for the Big 12 Championship football game. Then DH went to that game so I was home with Ally Rae all evening. My 17yo sis came over and we ordered in Chinese and made photo story books on Snapfish for all of Ally's great grandmas as a Christmas gift. I'm so excited about them! I wanted to go to the Baby Fair for the purpose of finding a new baby carrier but I literally ran out of time this weekend. Bummer.

Busy week this week too. Tues night I'm going to my sis's Christmas choir concert. I'm going to my LLL's holiday party on Wed morning and then out to lunch and shopping with a friend and her baby girl from my Bradley class. Thurs is DH's company Christmas party and then Friday I've got a friend from high school coming over to meet Ally Rae and then I'm going to a knockoff purse sale at a salon with my Mom. Sheesh!

DTD: Last night for us too and as AmberLion said...I'm glad that hurdle is over! It is always scarier to think about than actually do.

Birth Control: I had an IUD put in at my 6 week PP check up. It was horrible at first since she left the string way too long (I'm talking sticking out of me long!) but now I don't feel it so much. I'm not liking the spotting that is going on but I hear it doesn't last long. I'm hoping it doesn't because my IUD is treading on thin ice as it is...I'm not one for hormones but we did need to do something for birth control because left to our own devices we don't really do so well with it...obviously, with three under three!!!

Mat Leave: I am a lucky one and live in Canada where we get a year of paid mat leave. At the end of my mat leave I will not be going back to work and I am so happy about that!

Snow: Woke up to it this morning and I'm loving it. This will be our first Christmas at home in over five years...it will be so nice to spend it with our family.

AAM: Charlotte and I are doing really well. She is on a great night sleep schedule : (please don't hate me...I do deserve this after having two before her that did not sleep as newborns and who fed every two hours for months). Charlotte usually goes down between 7 and 7:30pm and wakes up for her first feeding between 1 and 2 and than again between 5 and 6 and usually up for the day at 7:30 am. She naps a lot during the day as well. She does get a bit fussy sometimes but overall she is a really happy/content baby.

We are slowly getting ready for Christmas around here. We have most of our shopping done which was pretty easy to do since we aren't getting the kids much. They are all under the age of three so they are still more interested in the bags/paper the gifts come in rather than the actually gifts. Plus we know that since this is our first Christmas home, the Grandparents will be spoiling them rotten!

Best be off...I hear one of my monkeys calling from his crib and I need to down some coffee before nap time is over...oh coffee...how do I love thee...let me count the ways!!!

My purse is gone... And that means so is my wallet. And that has my driver’s license, health insurance card, dental insurance card, debit card, credit cards, movie rental cards, my son’s medicaid card, pictures of my family, and some prescription medication (zofran) in it.

And the other stuff in my purse was one of Katherine’s outfits for emergency clothing changes, diapers for both kids, a diaper wipe case, my one and only sling so now I no longer have a sling anymore, some batteries, and my gum & chapstick.

I’ve been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off filing a police report, canceling all of my credit cards, suspending my bank acct, and filing for fraud alert with the credit bureaus. Not to mention ordering new insurance cards and going out to get new stuff to replace everything such as my purse and wallet. God knows when I'll be able to get a new sling. And that makes me sooo sad because Katherine LOVED it and now she's miserable when we go out.

Went today and got all of our money transferred out of our bank acct and put into a new one we opened. Sucked because there were a couple of items that were in the middle of being processed and they just so happened to be for the gifts me & my husband got each other online. So now we know what sites we ordered our gifts from. HE GOT ME SOMETHING FROM L.A.M.B.!!! (I’m a HUGE Gwen Stefani fan and that’s her clothing line). And he now knows I got him something sports related. Then went and got a new license and ordered new medicaid cards... At least my new picture on my license turned out good, lol.

All of this happened because after finishing Christmas shopping Saturday evening I was in a rush to get Katherine in the car because it was freezing outside. So I grabbed her from the shopping cart and put her in the car and got in. Just left my purse sitting in the buggy like a dumba**. The time it took me to exit the parking lot, immediately turn back into it, and park back in the same spot is all it took for someone to take it from the cart. No one turned it in to the store. No one has reported finding it to either the store or police. No one has called me to let me know they found it. They probably junked it after finding nothing useful in it (no cash).

UGH!!!!! What a hassle this has all been!!! Now I just gotta be extra careful and pay close attention to my credit and whatnot for the next several months. *crosses fingers*

Hope everyone's week is starting off better than mine, lol...

Oh and real quick... we finally DTD also for the 1st time. And my tear reopened. GAH!! I noticed after going to the bathroom a couple hours later and seeing spotting. Just my luck. I'm now officially afraid of sex... Poor hubby's going celibate again.

AAHH! You poor thing. I hope you heal up nicely. Take care of yourself!

We haven't DTD yet and it's been like 11 weeks. Please tell me that not everyone has DTD already?

^ I do not hate you, but I am jealous!

DTD - Note to everyone, don't accidentally use a ribbed condom when trying to DTD for the 2nd time postpartum. About a minute after we started, I told DH it was hurting too much, what on earth was going on b/c we were fine the first time? He looked at the package and it was ribbed. Ugh. Not pleasant. Luckily we had other non-ribbed ones so we were good to go!

Mat leave - I'm lucky that I did have 16 weeks off full pay. I wouldn't have gotten the benefit through my company had I decided not to go back. So I have to go back (at least for a little while) so that I could keep my salary. I'm not sure how long I'll stay when I go back though. It's time for me to move on and get a spa job and only work part-time.

NDFanatik - Oh man! I'm so sorry your purse got stolen. That happened to another mama I knew when I worked at LA Weight Loss. She did the same thing - put her kiddo in the car, got to the exit and realized she left her purse in the cart. She went back and it was gone. It sounds like you got everything covered though, but what a PITA. I'm so sorry about your sling. With Christmas coming, maybe someone can get you guys a new one?

And ouch. So sorry about your tear. That must have smarted.

It is, indeed. It's offered through my company only, it's not state disability or FMLA. So, I took full advantage of it!
