best/cheapest cell phone deals?

we have at&t right now its $100 a month for our family plan with 2 phones. we get 1,400 minutes a month but have been blowing through them lately and having to pay $300 phone bills : we dont talk on the phone much but we don't have a landline so every call we make is on those phones which adds up (making appts,calling internet company ect etc).

im looking for a better cheaper plan to save us. we would go phone free all together but dh is in the military and is required to have a phone so he can be reached 24/7.

My cable (internet) company has a landline (internet) phone for $15 a month for a year deal going on. I tried only use my cell phone line for a month and my bill was $300. $15 a month is a lot better than $300.

If that doesn't work for you, my cell phone company (US Cellular) now has free incoming calls which cut our minute useage down alot! And free mobile to mobile. So DH, DD and I can talk to each other and other USCC people for free.
