what would you want for Christmas? I think they are both into more realistic dolls, so I wasn't going to knit them a doll. They may like play food, or some sparkly hat, I was really trying to think of a play item.

How about doll clothes?

I knit DD (4y.o) a scarf with a slit for tucking the end through (so she doesn't have to wrap or tie it to stay on).

I am also hoping to go get some furry yarn and do a faux-fur collar (tied with a ribbon) - from a Lion free pattern in the yarn section of the fabric store.

I used to love it when my gran knitted something for me and a matching doll sized one too.

A really great bag of dolls clothes. Bright colours, stripes, intarsia stars and hearts, cotton not acrylic, the works A booga bag might work well too, though.

I was looking at doll clothes. Were you thinking Barbie? I'm sure they have some Barbies, other dolls I wouldn't be sure about. That is an idea. I was also thinking of these:

(It's two 5 year olds, btw) I thought I could knit them a few little animals or even fairies/people/gnomes--they are TINY I knitted one last night to check it out, from the top of the head to the bottom of the body is 1.5 inches!-- but I was trying to think of something a little more, like some assessories to go with them. A purse to carry them? little sleeping bags for each one? Any ideas?

Is a Booga bag a felted purse?

Oh, thanks so much for the little bunny pattern!

I am getting my kids (and me) a set of Beatrix Potter books for Christmas and wondering where to get/make some little toy bunnies for related dramatic play.

Maybe a purse that could also double as something like Peter Rabbit's rabbit hole home would be nice to carry them around in?

Or just a nice little basket? My mil has a set of knit people that live in a basket on her shelf for when the grandchildren come to play with them.

I made these for my 5 year old daughter last week and she has worn them every second of every day (except when I make her take them off so we can go out ) since then. Simple and she loooooves them

Those are really cute! Did you use the yarn listed in the pattern? It makes such a big deal about he strechiness of the yarn. I can't get that locally though I could order it. . . .if you used a different size yarn, did you have good luck with sizing.. . of course your daughter was there to adjust the size. . hmm...very cute.

Small bags to carry treasures around are always a hit around my house! And a larger and smaller one that can work for girl and doll are popular too.

Puppet mittens have been a big hit among the kids I knit for. There used to be a pattern online, but last time I looked, it had been removed. You can really just wing it if you've knit mittens before. Do 2 thumbs on each mitten, change color from sweater color to face color after the thumb gusset, then switch to hat color a row or two before beginning the decreases. When you get to the thumbs, use the face color for the last few rows so they look like hands.

My daughter LOVES purses. I was actually at the store today for another gift (2 for one skeins), and saw some really cute yarn for her for a purse. She's been begging for a new one for a while.
