Hello Friends!!

I thought it was time for a new thread. I'll keep this one up to date until February. Come March, I'll need someone to take over as I'll be very busy with my new little one :

Anyone have an update on these mamas?
Their babes should be here by now. . .

hi. how do I know if they're real contractions?

all. morning. long...

eta: eh, never mind. doesn't seem to be anything. *so impatient*

Thanks so much, Pranava...

I hope a new thread will bring some much needed joy to this space.
Blessings on everyone, their families and -- most of all -- their babies.

Oh, and as for us ... I think we've decided on what DP will be called.
We've gone with "baba." We'll see how that goes over way up here in our tiny, rural mountain town. It is an oasis of funky, young families, but we're the only queer ones having babies.

We've been trying out all kinds of alternatives, but baba seems to fit best.
DP is genderqueer to start with, so "mommy" just wasn't doing it for her.
A shout out to all the butch "babas" out there ... we're joining the posse!

Eat. Shower. Sleep. Drink something. Walk.

If they are still present after all of that, you are very likely in labor!

Yay! :
Now, if you wouldn't mind moving up to Canada and being our neighbours, I'd really appreciate the company ...
Marriage rights, second parent on the birth certificate without question, universal healthcare (including midwives), insured and sound federal banking system, nanaimo bars and butter tarts? How's that for an incentive to relocate?

While neither DW or I will be called Baba, we want to come!

Castor oil milkshake? Skip rope? Sex? I've been told all kinds of things bring baby along faster.

And 2happymamas, you're welcome to join the Canadian gaybourhood too!

can you please be sure that we're no longer on the due in June list (megincl and/or ktcl).

I'm with you 100%. This suspension of time is driving me crazy. Plus my midwife said she expects Squeak to arrive within the week which has only worsened my impatience. Here's to both of our babes arriving in the next 24hours!! :

Thanks, Pranava!

We'll hit 12 weeks on Thursday and are REALLY hoping to hear the heartbeat for the first time at our midwife appointment on Friday. I think then it will actually feel real and we can start to truly celebrate the pregnancy. Dw has been feeling slightly better this week, so hopefully she'll be one of the lucky pregnant mamas whose "morning" sickness magically disappears at the end of the first trimester (mine lasted well into the second). I am really appreciating her ever-increasingly curvier body, and can't wait for her to have a little more energy and have interest in doing more than just sleeping, if you know what I mean .

Still feeling really sad about all of the mamas who have lost their little ones in the last few weeks.

Howdy

Graduating this very morning with a BFP! A blissfully short stay in Queer and TTC, here's to a happy healthy 8 1/2 months!

My partner and I did our first at home ICI on 11/25 and we are thrilled for our first kiddo!

So thankful my 2WW is OVER with a happy ending!:

Oh trust me, I have been trying to convince DP that we should move to BC ever since my trip there this summer. In fact, I was scouring the web this week trying to figure out how we could legally immigrate to Canada...

Baby Memory Book!

I've been looking for a baby book to record all the fun first year facts in. I was having trouble finding one that didn't talk about Mommy and Daddy. I just ordered "And Then There Was Me" It's designed for non-traditional families. All references to parent(s) are gender neutral and there are even pages to record donor info. Just thought I'd share my happy finding. . .
