Our bebe is hearing very well these days ... the dogs started barking at a bobcat in the yard at 4am and the baby woke with a start and started doing a little polka in there.
We are DEFINITELY saying NO to the creepy 3D ultrasound...ewwww. But I KNOW we arent disciplined enough to not find out the sex...we will be SO busy after the baby is born I want to have EVERYTHING done possible before. (and we are just not at all patient)

I cant wait till our little tadpole can actually hear me rambling at it!

(I swear the smell of my DP's EggMcMuffin followed me around ALL DAY yesterday....YICK!)

Congrats miep! Hooray for more queer babies. Hope that we'll get to see pictures of Anders soon. Tiny newborns are so sweet!

It's been a week since I gave birth to Noelle. It seems so odd not to be an active part of this thread. Sigh. Hopefully I'll be back soon enough. But I miss you guys.

Welcome baby Anders!!!!!!!

:

And about the creepy 3D ultrasounds. . . I can see how they seem creepy, but I also think they are very cool, and I'm having one the Saturday after Christmas. I wouldn't have paid for it myself, but my friends at work got me this as a gift. With all the relationship crap I've been dealing with, it's been very hard to be excited about this pregnancy. I don't feel very attched to my baby. I think seeing his face and watching him move around in 3D might help.

More Great News!

Our daughter's sister was born this morning! Our good friends used the same donor and had their daughter this morning. DW and I can't wait to meet her. In many ways, seeing her may be a sneak peek at Coco.

Welcome to the world, KR!

Hooray for more Queer Spawn! : Welcome baby Anders! What a great name! Can't wait to hear the birth story; I hope it was just the experience you were hoping for, miep.

Our midwife appointment was canceled this morning due to an ice storm in our midwife's hometown. Bummer. I had really been looking forward to hearing the heartbeat for the first time. We are rescheduled for Wednesday of next week. Five more days of waiting . . . . . . the upside is that dw will be 13 weeks then, so finding the heartbeat should be pretty easy (we didn't hear it with ds3 at 12 weeks and that was very concerning). But the weather better cooperate next week or I am going to freak out! (I should mention that dw took the cancellation in stride; she's such a calm and peaceful pregnant person ).

Here's a 31 week belly pic for any curious onlookers ...

I washed and put away all the diapers and prefolds today, so it's really starting to feel real. I also booked in three author appearances in January with the caveat that I'll be enormously pregnant and perhaps would like a chair.

Normally I'm the stand-and-chat-cool-author that comes to the high schools, but this time I'll be the cumbersome preggo lady. Might cramp my reputation, but hey ... the kids love hearing how the queer got knocked up. Makes a few teachers raise eyebrows though.

But I love, love, love thinking that there are queerlings in the audience who get a groovy role model. They sometimes come up after with either shy little questions or flaming queen-like commentary. They are my favourites.

Great pic!

And I know how you feel about the queerlings. Like when shy teens used to come up to the desk at the library and be all "I read this book... Rainbow High... and I kind of liked it. Do you, you know, have any other books kind of like that?" Of course then I'd come out with a list as long as my arm.

Needing a Big Hug

I got a letter from XP yesterday that says she does not want any part in my child's life. She thinks I manipulated her into having this baby. She feels she has no obligation to me or the child at all becasue "it's not like we had sex and you ended up pregnant." She said the whole insemination process sickened her. She said I should just be happy because I got what I wanted. I just cut out the page of the baby book she gave me last Christmas where she wrote "I give this book to my Co-mama of our unborn child - concieved as a thought in our minds and a hope in our hearts. To My Loves" I am so very sad.
