Can anyone direct me to sites to find this
I have googled but differnt sites keep stating different things and I would like to find reputable websites.

The ingredients in the Hib vaccine depend on the brand.

From The Vaccine Book:

ActHIB contains:
HIB sugar/tetanus toxoid complex
sugar water
saline

PedVaxHIB contains:
HIB sugar/Neisseria protein complex
saline
225 micrograms of aluminum

Here is the package insert for Acthib:

http://www.novaccine.com/pdffiles/Ac...age_insert.pdf

And this is the package insert for Pedvaxhib:

http://www.novaccine.com/pdffiles/pe...age_insert.pdf

I got those links from a novax site, but they are just scans of the actual inserts the companies make.

so no dairy/soy?

You may be thinking of the combination vaccines that contain Hib in them; many of those have yeast and whatnot in them, or traces of from the processing.

As far as I know, these two do not contain yeast/dairy/soy.

thank you kindly for your help

ActHIB is not given by itself. It has to be reconstituted, and therefore administered with, either TRIPACEL or QUADRACEL.
QUADRACEL contains Formaldehyde, Neomycin, 2 - Phenoxyethanol, Polymyxin B, Polysorbate 80, Pertussis toxin, Filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), Pertactin, Tetanus, Aluminum phosphate, Diphtheria toxoid, Bovine (cow) serum.
TRIPACEL contains Filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), Pertactin, Aluminum phosphate, Diphtheria toxoid, Tetanus toxoid, Pertussis Toxoid.

Some HIB vaxes do contain dairy:

HIBIREX contains Sodium chloride, Tetanus toxoid, Bovine (cow) serum, Haemophilus influenzae B, and lactose.

HIBTITER contains Ammonium sulfate, Sodium chloride, Haemophilus influenzae B, Polyribosylribitol phosphate, Amino acids, Casamino acids (casein), Yeast extract, Mineral salts. (Casein is dervied from dairy)

INFANTRIX HEXA contains Aluminum hydroxide, 2 - Phenoxyethanol, Pertussis toxin, Filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), Pertactin, Sodium chloride, Aluminum phosphate, Diphtheria toxoid, Tetanus toxoid, Virus: Hepatitis B, Medium 199, Virus: polio, Haemophilus influenzae B, Lactose.

I think the only one that has soy is COMVAX Aluminum hydroxide, Formaldehyde, Yeast, Virus: Hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae B, Sodium Borate, Amino acids, Dextrose, Neisseria meningitides OMPC, Mineral salts, Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, Hemin chloride, Soy peptone.

I'd like to see where you got that ingredient information as it contains the old Formaldehyde thing. There have been numerous threads on this so I won't rehash it here.

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...t=formaldehyde

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...t=formaldehyde

there are tons of other ones.

ETA: and, like I said, vaccines like comvax are going to be the ones with dairy, etc because of the other components (hep B especially) and she is only asking for the single hib vaccine, not a combo. And I also assumed she is in the USA (i could be wrong), so you are also limited in brand as well.

Also acthib can also be reconstituted with saline; it does not have to be added to the quad or tri vaccines. So that information is also incorrect.

Quote:
ActHIB®, Haemophilus b Conjugate Vaccine (Tetanus Toxoid Conjugate), produced by Sanofi Pasteur SA, is a sterile, lyophilized
powder which is reconstituted at the time of use with either saline diluent (0.4% Sodium Chloride) or Sanofi Pasteur Inc. Diphtheria
and Tetanus Toxoids and Pertussis Vaccine Adsorbed (whole-cell pertussis vaccine DTP) or Tripedia®, Sanofi Pasteur Inc. Diphtheria
and Tetanus Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis Vaccine Adsorbed (DTaP) (when reconstituted known as TriHIBit®) for intramuscular
use only.

I see you got that from the site I used for the package insert links. Well, it seems that site (as I said it is a novax site which I just used for the package links-- first one i found when I googled) obviously has misunderstood the package insert and is providing misleading information on the acthib....at least that is what it seems to me. everything I am reading says you can get it alone and it is also the vaccine I requested and received for my daughter, and it was a single vaccine and not a combination one.

Rereading through the package insert I see that I am right and this website has it wrong: the acthib does not need to be reconstituted as a combo vaccine; it CAN be done that way, but it doesn't HAVE to be.

Im not sure what you mean by "the old Formaldehyde thing". I know there are threads about formaldehyde and it's form in vaccines and whether the form is harmful or not (the threads you posted) but I was just listing ingredients, not debating about whether a particular ingredient is harmful.

http://www.novaccine.com

you can look up each vaccine and they have a link to the package inserts

I did use that website because they were the first google hit I got for the package inserts for acthib and pedvaxhib, but the site itself is unreliable. They are wrong about the necessity of reconstituting the acthib within one of those combo vaxes.

(i think we were posting at the same time, but I wrote more on this above)

Found this site about ACTHIB specifically...maybe it will be helpful for some

yes, that site is saying the same thing I am: you can get acthib on its own reconstituted in saline. I linked it already above.

from that site:

Quote:
Administer vaccine within 24 hours after reconstitution with sodium chloride diluent
and you can read on to see the instructions when you choose to use tripedia, etc.

The same information is also found here, again from that site:
