Can we discuss SLEEP and our LO's? - Page 2

I'm finding this thread very reassuring, it's so hard to know whether what you're (I'm) doing is 'right' or not, looks like many people have similar bedtimes to us.

Where does your LO sleep?
In her side-carred cot if possible, sometimes in the bed between us or snuggled next to me if I've been feeding her in bed, although I usually try to transfer her back into the cot once she's gone into a deep sleep.

What is the longest stretch of sleep your LO gets?
We've had a few nights where she's gone 5 hours, and hopefully we'll have more like that.

Do you swaddle?
Yes, although not when she's lying snuggled with me, I like to leave her arms free.

Do you have a bedtime routine?
Not really. She's fussy at night, currently our bedtime 'routine' consists of me holding her while she naps and feeds, joggling her when she cries etc, until she finally falls into a proper sleep around 12.

Do you cluster feed at night before bed?
Yes.

Is there anything you do at night that you attribute to your LO getting good stretches of sleep?
Nope, no idea what makes the difference between her sleeping well and not. I try to make sure she has some good naps in the day.

Where does your LO sleep?
She usually starts out in our bed, while dh sleeps on the floor, and then we move her into her crib after a few hours. Sometimes she starts out sleeping on the Boppy on my lap and then I move her to the crib. Once in a while she sleeps in the swing for the first part of the night.

What is the longest stretch of sleep your LO gets?
She will usually sleep up to 4 hours at a stretch during the night

Do you swaddle?
no

Do you have a bedtime routine?
Not exactly. She participates in ds's bedtime routine around 7:30pm (sits in the bathroom while I give ds his shower, listens to bedtime stories, etc.). And then I take her into her darkened room and nurse her, but if she falls asleep and I put her in her crib, she wakes up immediately. Then I either keep nursing her, or I bring her downstairs to nurse, or if she's really fussy we sling her or put her in the swing. This goes on until about midnight, sometimes later.

Do you cluster feed at night before bed?
Not really, but she does generally want to nurse more then

Is there anything you do at night that you attribute to your LO getting good stretches of sleep?
No. Right now I just really want her to go to bed earlier--dh and I could really use some time without the kids in the evenings, and I could really use an earlier bedtime. I am exhausted! Nothing we try seems to help get her to bed earlier.

Where does your LO sleep?During the day either in my arms, on me in a pouch, or asleep in his carseat. At night he is in bed with me.

What is the longest stretch of sleep your LO gets?He has a 4 hour stretch at night from 11pm to 3am, nurses and then sleeps until 6 am ish. He nurses again and then dozes on and off until 9.

Do you swaddle? No. Conley has despised swaddling since birth.

Do you have a bedtime routine? No but he has been falling asleep around 11pm while nursing for the past 3 weeks. So the timing of bedtime has become routine.

Do you cluster feed at night before bed?Yes, from about 7pm until 11pm he is literally attached to me.

Is there anything you do at night that you attribute to your LO getting good stretches of sleep? No. I'm happy with the amount of sleep we are getting so far. My last babe was a horrible sleeper at night so this is good. ;-)
