probiotic to take while taking abx?

Wasn't there some probiotic that was especially good about warding off the evils during abx?

My friend, whose been battling thrush, just got a horrible case of mastitis. She needed IV abx. So I'm guessing she's in double trouble. No dairy issues there.

What abx should she take?

I took the AbX Support by Klaire Labs that someone on here recommended (it had that L. Rhamnosus in it).

I've read to use Florastor, which is S.Boullardi (sp). Other companies make that strain, like Kirkman's.

Some feel that you should give Nystatin alongside antibiotics to prevent yeast overgrowth. And add probiotics upon completion of the antibiotics.

This thread has debate regarding taking probiotics concurrently with antibiotics: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...ht=antibiotics

High doses of Vit. C helped me to ward off mastitis, multiple times. The gut healing info regarding adding coconut oil, cod liver oil, magnesium, probiotics, vit C, zinc, etc. needs to be done to improve immune function.

I'd also recommend classical homeopathy.
