that looks great! i also did not know that cables could be done in crochet. I am trying to knit a hat currently and also have a crochet baby hat in progress. I previously crocheted two hats and they are too big and I think the knit one will be big as well. i guess i need to learn how to figure out gauge or something.

Looks good! I've only attempted to crochet cables once, but I don't think the pattern I have is well written. I'd like to try it again. Yours looks really good.
