Help with this question

I'm working on the masters q&a right now and am stuck on a question. I've searched high and low but haven't found anything (except how to do it). Everyone says to check out Vouge since they refer to this specifically but I can't get to the library right now. I'd also just rather knit it and see what happens but alas I am no where near my knitting supplies right now. I'd rather not skip the question and go back later so I thought I'd try here and see if anytone can point me in the right direction!

The question is:

Why should you not use a lifted increase every other row?

I have the swatch done (it's in stockinette) but the swatch is at home and I am not. Otherwise I'd reference that.

Well, because you'd be lifting the same physical stitch over and over again:
1) Big holes.
2) Lack of structural integrity, I would think. I can't imagine that it's going to make for a strong, durable fabric.
3) I suspect, wonky tension.

I'm struggling to find the words here, but draw it on a piece of paper. That should help you visualise.

Thank you! That's what I thought it was but I couldn't quite visualize it without seeing it yk? That makes sense.
