what happens to the plastics that get in the recycle bin that the city doesn't take? - Page 2

I just saw this topic again. :

I called our waste management company shortly after posting and our entire city is now taking #1-#7 plastics!!! It is being publicized slowly... I suppose they are working out the kinks in the system???

We can pretty much recycle everything except plastic bags now. We use cloth/reusable bags for as much as possible, anyway.

From your name, I guess you're in San Diego? If so, woot!

this makes sense, thanks!

I'm just glad they take all plastics, I don't have time to find the number on every thing we recycle.

Yes, I am and, yes, it is exciting!!! :

I am not sure what the roll-out plan is and why exactly they are not telling everyone. My friend got the information from one major waste management company and I got the information from a second large waste management company. The woman I spoke with told me the facility is Miramar for our recycling. My friend is North of me and she didn't ask the same questions I did. She is technically within city limits, as well, but we are not sure if her facility is the same.
