No vax & drop-in day care requirements

I'm a SAHM. Today my children, 7 and almost 2, went to a drop-in daycare while I had a court appearance. They asked for the immunization records within 30 days. I just said ok, knowing I have none.

I'm in KY and the law says any child in daycare must have vax. If I have a religious exemption, will that suffice for the daycare requirements? And, if so, how do I get a doctor or health dept signature? When I took DS for a ped checkup, they said they require vax so they couldn't accept him as a patient.

Any advice? This drop in day care thing seemed to be a hit with the kids and I do have two more court appointments in as many months.

Thanks!

Here's the exemption form for your state. Just get it signed at the Dept of Health, I don't think they can deny you a signature if you bring them a letter stating your religious opposition to immunization (per KY state law).

Quote:
KRS § 214.036 (2007)

§ 214.036 Exceptions to testing or immunization requirement

Nor shall KRS 158.035, 214.010, 214.020, 214.032 to 214.036, and 214.990 be construed to require the immunization of any child whose parents are opposed to medical immunization against disease, and who object by a written sworn statement to the immunization of such child on religious grounds.

TITLE 902. CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES
DEPARTMENT FOR PUBLIC HEALTH
CHAPTER 2. COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

902 KAR 2:060 (2007)

...for attending day care centers, certified family child care homes, other licensed facilities which care for children, preschool programs, and public and private primary and secondary schools.

Section 3. Exceptions and Exemptions to the Immunization Schedules.

(7)
A physician, local health department, or medical facility administering immunizations, shall, upon receipt of a written sworn statement from the parent or guardian of a child, issue a "Certificate of Religious Exemption" from the requirements of Section 2 of this administrative regulation, in compliance with KRS 214.036.
It seems fairly cut and dry, and the way it is worded makes it seem as though you can't really be grilled about the issue.

This totally sucks, though:

Quote:
Provided, however, that in the event of an epidemic in a given area, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services may, in an emergency regulation, require the immunization of all persons within the area of the epidemic, against the disease responsible for such epidemic.
