The Color Purple & Fried Green Tomato's and why is it your favorite scene? I have to pick a scene from a movie and deconstruct it for my interpersonal communications class and I've narrowed down my choices to these 2 movies but I still have to pick a scene and I don't have time to watch 4 hours of video and pick apart each aspect so help me pick out an interesting scene!

I haven't seen the movie of Color Purple (read the book) but I saw the scene where someone yells "You're nothing but a heifer! Ha-ha-ha!" and that seems to be "the" famous scene. In Fried Green Tomatoes, I liked the scene where Kathy Bates brings Jessica Tandy the fried green tomatoes. It was for personal reasons-- Jessica Tandy looked and sounded identical to my late, great-aunt Josie in that scene-- but I always thought it was a sweet scene.

haven't seen the color purple, but from fried green tomatoes: how about ruth's birthday scene? where idgie gets her drunk and they play baseball and poker and then ruth reveals that she's getting married.

I have quite a few for The Color Purple: 1. When Celie goes to shave Mister and you just know that she's about to take off more than a few chin hairs, 2. When Sophia confronts Celie about Celie telling Harpo to hit Sophia, 3. When Sophia reclaims Harpo at the juke joint and smacks down Squeak at the same time, 4. When Shug sings "Sister" to Celie.

I could probably think of more but then I'd be quoting the whole movie to you.

I love the part in FGT where Kathy Bates rams the snooty girls' car and says, "Face it girls, I may be older but I have better insurance than you."

Yes! That is my absolute favorite scene in that movie. Gosh, I haven't watched it in a long time...
