My DD has Cystic Fibrosis and because of that we incur a lot of medical bills. She had to have some tests done recently and the bills for the Dr's and hospital totaled over $10,000 AFTER insurance paid their part. Luckily the hospital lists all of their billing online and I went in to look at the bills. It turns out that since July they have been billing our insurance to the Non-participating provider address!! I called and pointed this out and they are supposed to re-bill everything. I just checked today and the Dr's balance of the bill has gone to 0 but the other still says over $3,000. An improvement but still not good!! I checked and some of the dates still have the wrong insurance info!
: I used to work in a Dr's office so I know mistakes like this happen, but I am really frustrated with this. We also have about $3,000 in other medical bills from me. I just feel like we're being "punished" for being sick, ya know? We don't qualify for any programs from our state. I got mad about it and wrote a letter to the governor asking just what was being done in our state for families like mine! LOL I just feel like it's something that we aren't ever going to be able to dig out of because her expenses are reoccurring and her treatments are expensive. I did find some co-pay rebates on a couple of her meds so that helps a little.
Anyway, I just had to rant a little and I didn't want to do it to DH because I know he is already stressed with this whole thing too. Thanks for listening!
