Anyone made their own postcard?

I'm thinking of creating my own postcard mailer to advertise specials with discount codes for loyal customers & wanted to know if anyone has BTDT. Did you use a certain program? I don't know if this idea would work or not, but I was thinking of getting one of those little print out your own photo picture machines and use one of my digital photos of one of my products for the glossy side of the postcard and then write on the other side. As my pp's have said, I'm just starting out, so my "mailing list" would be small...do you think this would work? I would love to hear what you all have done/do. Thanks.

It would work
Just know that it may not work immediately but anytime your name is in front of the customer is a good thing.

You may want to check Winkflash or MPix or Vistaprint. It would be cheaper than printing it on your own printer.

I used Microsoft Publisher to do all those cards and things.

I'm not experienced enough with any of my editors. I just use Vistaprint.

I used photoshop and had them printed at Greener Printer. They'll do your direct mailing, now, too, so that's cool. I still have a stack of cards and address labels that need sticking on. Vista will do direct mailing, too, and they're cheaper, Greener just has the recycled paper and eco-ink options I like.
