I need your suggestions! I'm getting a list of country songs together for a class I'm teaching next spring on the nature of God. I'd like to listen to a bunch of country songs that discuss God and the problem of evil (as in - if God's so good, why is there evil?)
It's kind of a loose category - I've got Sugarland's "It happens" on one end of the spectrum and Loretta Lynn's "God Makes No Mistakes" on the other, with a few songs in between, so the songs don't have to be super-religious. I'd just like to put some real-world grappling with this idea in the course, along with the more academic theological stuff.
