I had my first homebirth yesterday!
:
I think it's only starting to sink in now! I had a great waterbirth after 8 hours of labor, which felt like a miracle after the marathon labor I had with my daughter. The whole time it was pretty intense and I kept thinking "I cannot do this for another 30 hours like last time!" and thankfully I didn't!
The Lord was so good and truly his Grace sustained me when nothing else possibly could.
The midwives were AMAZING and let me birth him pretty much all on my own in the water- she did help me feel for his nuchal cord and let me know it was too tight to pull over his head and told me I needed to sumersault him out, and that's what we did.
I practiced hypnobabies which truly helped during pregnancy but went right out the window when things got intense during labor. It actually annoyed me to try to use some of the techniques because they weren't working at all and seemed ridiculous in the midst of so much 'pressure'.
But all in all it was a wonderful birth and I could not be happier!
